My name is Ellis Calderon, newly appointed CEO of Cryer Pharmaceuticals. I have been reviewing our internal records for some time, and I can not seem to find much in the way of formal communications between Cryer and the GMG. This is increasingly worrisome given our main production facility in the Sigma-17 system neighbors GMG space. I would like to remedy this oversight.
Cryer staff on Atka have reported an increase in GMG activity within Sigma-17, specifically near the Planet of Kurile. One can only assume that the Samura-controlled planet is seeing it's last days under such leadership, as I find it highly unlikely that a GMG-Samura alliance has occurred. Time will tell if my assumption is correct.
In any event, we would like to extend a hand towards the GMG to usher in a relationship between our organizations, given our close proximity as well as similar goals. We both seek to be at the forefront as providers for basic and necessary goods across Sirius; GMG with fuel, Cryer with medical goods. As such, a partnership could prove to be quite profitable for both us.
It is my hope that you are like-minded, and we at Cryer look forward to hearing from you soon.
A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mr. Calderon.
My name is Sora Kobayashi, and I am a leading member of the Consortium's Board of Directors. The Taiheiyo Consortium is a small faction within the vast Gas Miners Guild, and we're primarily concerned with enforcing Guild sovereignty over the Sigmas and expanding our operations. Financial and fiscal gain is still obviously a priority, of course.
We've discussed Cryer Pharmaceuticals's future in the Sigmas for some time now. We feel that a business alliance would be most profitable for both of our organizations. We believe that it is in the best interests of any corporation not beholden to any one national interest to support the establishment of a republic in the Sigmas more amenable to such organizations.
The Liberation of Planet Kurile is underway and will likely continue under the Consortium. We are also very interested in the Sigma-21 system and the opportunities it may hold.
We believe there is ample opportunity for cooperation regarding the development of this region.
Additionally, we also seek cooperation against the Outcast filth who seek to peddle their disgusting product in our space and their vile piracy.
We look forward to a prosperous future with Cryer Pharmaceuticals.
A pleasure to meet your acquaintance. Having passed your message on to the other board members, we are pleased to hear that the Taiheiyo Consortium is willing to enter into a profitable business alliance.
As a sign of good faith, please inform us what medical supplies the Consortium may need during your liberation of Planet Kurile. We will ensure that Atka is well stoked for Guild pilots and captains, and we will of course be able to bring any emergency supplies to Kurile herself, should the need arise.
In regards Sigma-21, I must confess we have little record of the system. Knowing that the Consortium has interest in it's development with cooperation from Cryer, I will dispatch a discrete detail to survey and scan any potential habitable mass for unknown pathogens or biological contaminates, as well as provide mobile medical units should any unforeseen issues arise. Especially should any filth from the northern Omicrons seek to poke their nose where it is unwanted.
Should any Consortium personal come across Outcast filth, we would pay well for their delivery to Atka, dead or alive.
It seems there has been some miscommunication and a misunderstanding with one of our employees who had a recent encounter with Consortium pilots. Seems in the comm chatter there was reference to GMG laws in the Sigma's, yet from the logs provided to us as well as our own search, we could not find record of Guild or even Consortium laws that will be enforced in the Sigma systems.
While our relationship is but at the beginning stages, I want to ensure that both of our organizations are on the same page, and no future entanglements arise due to a misunderstanding. I would hope you and the Consortium would agree.
With that in mind, we would like to ensure that all [Cryer] tagged vessels will be exempt from fines for hauling the following items:
⧫ Stabiline - One of our most recent pharmaceuticals that we envision being the legal answer to the Cardamine menace.
⧫ Synthetic Marijuana - One of our oldest products, completwly safe and tested with no adverse side effects.
⧫ Human Organs - With our wide-array of medical products, we also assist on the front lines for those needing organ transplants. All Cryer-handled organs are completed safe and Cryer examined and certified.
⧫ Cardamine - with our goal of wiping Cardamine out of circulation, the amounts we find being hauled illegally are to be brought back to Atka for study as well as destruction in a safe and contained environment.
⧫ Nomad materials - In small amounts, testing of non-human biological materials is on the forefront of our research for pharmaceutical application.
⧫ Azurite Gas - With the rumors surrounding such, our scientists are eager to see what they can discover from the molecular structure of the gas.
We have never had issue with such before, but given the rise of the Consortium, it is important that we establish such continued operations. While making many of the above legal is entirely out of the question, the specific items mentioned above are crucial to Cryer's future as the leading medical company throughout Sirius. Innovation and medical advances are not without research and development, which in turn necessitates acquiring and studying a wide variety of materials, some of which in the wrong hands could very well be deadly. Cryer has not come this far though without strict regulations and precautions when dealing with such.
Of course, myself and the board would like to see all Cryer-produced goods legalized, but we can take one step at a time.
I realize the above is quite a list of materials that are restricted in many parts of Sirius, though Cryer has never had issue with finding ways to work with local authorities. As such, please give the above some thought, and we await your response.
Regarding the first transmission, we are in complete agreement with your actions and suggestions. We have little usage for Outcast corpses, though they will certainly be useful for research purposes, I imagine.
Regarding contraband... That subject is a bit more complicated. You see, ever since Guildmaster Namura went missing and the core of the Guild collapsed, we have been struggling to restore proper law and order. It is no secret that the Guild is currently disorganized and crying out for proper leadership. Therefore, until we have either restored the old order or created a new one, it is hard to say if any licenses for contraband shall be given out.
That said, for the present moment, the Consortium will not harass [Cryer]-owned vessels carrying Stabiline, Human Organs, Synthetic Marijuana, or small amounts of Cardamine (Up to 300 units worth).
We would prefer that all Nomad materials and Azurite (in its gaseous form or otherwise) in our space be handled by the Guild and more experienced organizations first, however. Therefore, until the laws are recodified, we will place a moratorium on all shipping of these commodities.
In other news, TaiCon has recently launched its first science vessel, the Corvo-class Research Vessel Kon-Tiki, as part of our initiative to study both Planet Saigon and other area of our space. We hope to collaborate with you in your scientific ventures soon.
the announced lack of proper leadership and organization that my honored colleague Mr.Kobayashi announced is over. As new Guildmistress of the Gas Miners Guild, I was glad to find this piece of paperwork in my system, as it bears an idea that I already had in mind.
Working together with Cryer is a highly appreciated yes from us and I see that you already came across our lack of properly written laws. Now you see... this doesn't make our space a lawless one, if one of us sees one of you committing obvious crimes and wonders why we punish them for it, I would be really upset because I see that as an abuse. But that won't happen anymore because clearer words have to be spoken now, am I right?
I see you made a neat little list of things you wish to bring through our space, I know that Cryer wouldn't abuse that to smuggle for profit reasons so basically, I have no problem with it. What I do have a problem with, is that this looks like a very one sided deal to this point. Sure, we make sure that your ships and bases are always delivered with fuel and you make sure our people are always being treated with the best healthcare.
However, with the permission to let you ship those goods through our space, it's still one more favor for you, which means that we still have to get something back, the best I could imagine here is a license. I am willing to give you access to our transmission center where our Guild members communicate with each other. You won't be able to read these communications but you will be able to leave your own there. I say that, because I would like Cryer to pay a monthly fine of 15 million sirian credits to GMG|Bank with a proof of the payment. Also, we wish that Cryer ships a full transport load of medical goods to our storage on Aomori, from where it will be distributed to our stations, you can include the information about the shipped medical goods in the report for the payments as well.
If you feel like you don't want to agree with this I must restrict these goods, sadly, and this is something I really don't want, given how influential and powerful our organizations are and how a collaboration could be more profitable than anything.
I must state my surprise in seeing now two entities under the Gas Miners Guild, especially given that there are now conflicting statements from the Guild. I gather that you are now head of the entire Guild, yes? If so, I look forward to speaking with you more.
Now, to address your message more thoroughly. The transportation of restricted goods is always a sensitive subject, given that one must of course evaluate the risks involved, both from a financial stand point as well as potential dangers to the local populace. As such, I would like to break the request of goods into two parts:
⧫ Non-Cryer Goods ⧫ Cryer-Manufactured Goods
Cardamine, Nomad Materials, and Azurite gases most certainly fall under Non-Cryer goods, and throughout most of Sirius are classified as restricted commodities. Allow me to elaborate further Cryer's interest in such. Cardamine is a menace that is plaguing Sirius. I'm sure I do not need to further explain to you the details of why. Needless to say, Cryer is adamant on wiping out the Cardamine menace that destroys human lives. In order to fully combat such, one must study samples to ensure the molecular composition is carefully replicated and molded to halt or in a perfect state, reverse the DNA-altering process. Our goal is to not haul Cardamine in vast quantities, but in small amounts for study.
Nomad materials and Azurite are also goods that little research has been conducted on, in terms of the potential benefits and creation of counter-agents to the effects on a biological entity, such as us humans. Again, our goal is not to haul copious amounts, but to study samples in order to look for potential application for the benefit of those throughout Sirius.
With that in mind, I would agree that anyone, including Cryer, should not be allowed free reign with these potentially harmful substances. The transportation of such commodities must be closely guarded and documented, and reports provided to authorities where such goods may be passing through. As such, I would agree that any hauling of such goods would warrant a report to the GMG authorities, as well as a license to carry such be provided.
Onto Cryer-Manufactured goods. As I am sure you are aware, Atka Research Station houses our production of the Cryer Pharmaceutical "Stabiline". This is Cryer's answer to the Cardamine menace. Our pharmaceutical is meant to replace Cardamine intake, and cease any DNA-alterations that may occur after continued use. Most importantly, side effects do not include death should one cease to use Stabiline, as is the unfortunate case with Cardamine users. Now, our scientists are continuously working to improve it's molecular structure in order to provide a reversal in dependency for those who make the switch from Cardamine to Stabiline. At this present time, our pharmaceutical does not reduce the pre-existing chemical dependency for Cardamine users, nor does it reverse previous DNA alteration. It is though a safe pharmaceutical aid for Cardamine users, as well as new users who, once approved to receive a prescription from Cryer, can enjoy the benefits without the life-threatening side effects.
Synthetic Marijuana has also been clinically tested multiple times, and has shown no adverse side-effects nor any dependency amongst it's users. Coincidentally, our largest consumers of Synthetic Marijuana are executives of various large companies throughout Sirius, whom benefit from the increased creative thoughts and focus brought on by Cryer-produced Synthetic Marijuana.
Lastly, Human Organs. With our ever-increasing supply of medical goods provided throughout SIrius, we also specialize in providing organ transplants for wounded forces, as well as non-military personnel with urgent medical needs. Completely legal and all organs have passed Cryer-certified medical examinations at Cambridge Research Station, these organs have and continue to save countless lives, and for the past 10 years we have received zero organ rejection from our patients.
None of the above really should come as a surprise, given our certifications and examinations are the most prestigious throughout Sirius, and all medical personnel that have either graduated from Cambridge Research Institute or Denver Research Institute are the most sought after given their education. To be frank, Cryer would not have lasted for nearly 500 years as the leading medical and pharmaceutical company, as well as operating two of the most sought after research institutes throughout Sirius if we did not have the most rigorous and intensive safety-precautions and examinations of our staff, students, and proprietary goods.
As such, Cryer agrees to pay a monthly fee for hauling non-Cryer goods as mentioned above through GMG space, with the exception of Sigma-17, where our own facility is located. On months that Cryer is not hauling such goods throughout GMG-claimed space, a fine should not be warranted in our eyes. We do though stand firm on our stance regarding our own manufactured goods, that are both imported and exported to Atka. To demand a fine for producing our own products and delivering them throughout Sirius is close to extortion Mrs. Yukari. Especially given that Cryer is Sirius-wide allowed to haul our own products. I would expect the GMG to feel the same should the Government of Kusari place a fine for hauling H-Fuel out of Okinawa from your refineries, especially given your H-Fuel is the leading fuel throughout all of Sirius. We will though of course continue to supply the GMG with medical supplies on a monthly basis as a show of good faith and cooperation.
I hope the aforementioned provides insight into the work Cryer does, and I hope that the amendment to your terms as met with a positive answer. It is my personal view that such small terms should not hinder a partnership with the GMG and Cryer, given our positions as the Sirius-leaders in fuel and medical goods. With that mindset, Cryer will continue to solidify ourselves as the leading company by a large margin of medical goods and services, and ensure that any decision made is for the advancement of that ideology, as I expect would be the same of GMG in solidifying themselves as the leading producer of fuel for Sirius. Together, if such a partnership proves fruitful, Sirius will never risk the loss of our products or authority.

Kon'nichiwa, Mr.Calderon
That was an interesting insight into your work. So let me make the proposed contract clear.
Cryer ; GMG contract Wrote:- Cryer Pharmaceutals ; [Cryer] tagged ships are permitted to ship Cardamine, Nomad materials and Azurite Gas through Gas Miners Guild territory.
- Cryer Pharmaceuticals will pay a monthly fee of 10 million credits to GMG|Bank to pay this license.
- Cryer Pharmaceuticals will deliver a 5000 unit transport load of medical goods to Aomori Station in Honshu every month and report the delivered goods into the Gas Miners Guild Transmission Center.
- Sigma-17 is still considered Gas Miners Guild territory, but due to the presence of Atka, the restrictions are not in effect in said system.
- The Gas Miners Guild ; GMG|will protect and escort [Cryer] ships within GMG sovereign territory.
- The Gas Miners Guild ; GMG| will not fine or sanction any of the listed items
As you can see, you are to pay this fine every month, no matter if you shipped the goods or not, the reason behind this is simply one thing: safety. The sum is nothing you cannot pay and it prevents you from lying to us about if you have shipped listed goods or not. I also would like you to know that the term "extortion" or "piracy" as the less-well spoken people would say, is something we, and I, are not afraid of doing. But calling a 10 million credit fine for a corporation of your wealth extortion is kind of... extreme in our eyes. We hope that the permission to ship those good through our systems with a strict administration like ours is reason enough to pay this minor fine.
Let me make one thing clear. As soon as Cryer starts lying, people will die. We are not in the business of death. We are in the business of life. If we were to consistently lie and risk the safety and lives of others, we would no longer be in business. We are not some small band of Junkers that skirt safety regulations and find cheap workarounds. Rest assured Mrs. Yukari, our regulations and precautions are known and a model to follow Sirius-wide. Do not make the mistake of treating Cryer as a small company trying to gain a foothold. You respect us, we will respect you. This has the potential to be a profitable partnership. You are not above us, we are not above you. But rest assured, we do not need GMG to survive. It is only out of respect and the possibility of a strong alliance that we reached out in the first place.
Now, after reviewing the proposed contract, Cryer finds the revised proposal acceptable, and has agreed to the terms set forth by the GMG. Given the close proximity to the first of the month, expect a delivery of medicinal goods as well as first payment for the license to be made within the next three (3) business days.
We at Cryer look forward to a long and profitable relationship with the GMG, and should any special needs arise, do not hesitate to contact a Cryer representative.

Kon'nichiwa, Mr.Calderon
I am glad to hear that you accept this contract, due to the proximity of the next month, I will be as grateful and grant you this month for free, this one time. I am also sure I never belittled your range as a company, I am well aware of how powerful the control of the medical market is, both of us sit on such a monopole. The essence of it has to be that we unify those powers to create something, that is so powerful, that if anyone is trying to go against us, we can strangle them. Now that the uncomfortable part of negotiations are done, we can concentrate on working together instead of past each other.
How would Cryer like the idea of overpowering the medical, fuel and insurance market? The latter would need the help of Interspace Commerce. With Cryer controlling the medical market, GMG the fuel market and IC the insurance market, we surely can handle something out that will be most profitable for everyone.
