Honestly Xing I can't really give you any feedback on it right now. The angles that you took screens of aren't the best. Plus, sans skin and with a rounded rendering, I just can see anything well enough to talk about it.
"because they are my enemies they should suck" is rather contradictory. "Xing KeSi", my primary discovery character, and also the only one actually in a faction, is part of the SCRA, ally to the Order. You might have noticed I did indeed made new models for the SCRA, but no battleships - as such, this faction still uses Order Osiris. If I was as you say, in a biased attitude, wouldn't I LOVE to see a super upgraded order battleship so I can pwn anything? Yes, I do fly a shared SCRA order BS account, I was even thinking about making an order character for that matter so, you are completely WRONG sir.
As for Dopamino;
I know for that, I'll apply texture soon enough, I'm yet trying to decide if I should use standard Liberty capship texture or try a new combination (I thought a Liberty texture but whiter instead of the standard grey)
Tenacity' suggestion;
I was thinking about remaking the launch tubes, shorter and more Liberty themed. But I dont think I will remove them, since I wonder where the fighters might launch from otherwise. The mid section of the ship already has a huge "vent" like thing, so I couldn't easily make lateral launch gate.
The engine section is being reworked as well. The general shape of it is too smooth in my taste, I'm making this section sharper.
Jinx;
just a small notice, this thing has 5 launch tubes, the 5th is between the lower two;)

Take some ques from battlestar. Their fighters launched out of individual tubes that came out of the sides of the ship.
In freelancer, when you dock or undock from a battleship, it's done through a single small airlock, not a huge runway in a tube. The concept doesnt fit with what 'vanilla' freelancer already portrays.
Rather than tubes, just put a number of 'airlocks' - like what battleships currently have - along the sides of the ship. A dozen on each side, for quick launching of fighters.
it'd look more like it belonged in FL than the runway tubes do.
airlocks work - for a slow but controlled launch. - an inofficial trailer showed them quicklaunching even, but still, ships can only launch one at a time.
multiple tubes make it possible to launch a full wing at the same time - and much faster - and at a high speed. the RP rules know some thing like "no dock killing" - but in RP, its better to launch quick in a battle, instead of being a sitting duck at 10ms while undocking.
so tubes might not be shown on ships in FL... but they make sense.
all it's gotta be is a door on the side of the ship that opens up, to a single interior 'bay', where a single fighter is sitting on a launch catapult. Put 12 of those on each side of the ship and you can instantly open the doors and throw 24 fighters into space, and they still look like they belong on freelancer ships.
yea - well, but its also about looks in sci-fi. the perfect spaceship is a sphere. but our ships don t look like that cause it d be boring to fly around in bubbles. - the idea of launch tubes and all that stuff is present RL stuff modified into sci-fi... as i am sure you know.
those things look like it so we can recognize them. - even the idea of a spaceship having an "up" and a "down" is stupid.. there is no such thing as artificial gravity other than thrusting at 1g or having a rotating gravitational deck.
tubes are there as some sort of signiture for a carrier - maybe they are not the most efficient or logical feature, but they clearly say " i am a carrier " cause we *know* that this is the way we can imagine it. - real space combat would be boring. - the chance that even a superlarge fleet would meet with another superlarge fleet of ships is so tiny that real space-combat is irrelevant. - so the things we build are a compromise between spaceflight and something the lines of "flash gorden" from the 60s.
and how boring is a carrier that has only a few baydoors "painted" on its side. ....
' Wrote:and the front hatchet looks like it was designed by the order, not liberty.
Remember that the front Hatchet on the Osiris is infact a Liberty design because they made the concept of the Osiris, the Order simply stole it and produced it
Doors would work on a Rheinland carrier because they already have them on their battleship.
For Liberty, how about the tubes have hatches all along the bottoms of them, like their Dreadnought has. That way the carrier can just "drop" them en masse instead of having them stream out a few holes.

I always imagine that actual space combat would more resemble cold war era-to-modern day submarine warfare. Huge open spaces, and it would probably be about stealth quite a bit. Chances are that you'll be out of visual range at all times, so reducing ship emissions below the detectable level at engagement distances will be key. Since lasers fire at the speed of light, if you can sneak up on someone and rip them to bits without them noticing until it's too late. Missiles would likely be more destructive than lasers, if much slower and much, much easier to detect.
Due to the vast distances involved in outer space, you would likely only see any real conflict around points of interest, like planets and so forth, so large battles definitely could take place, but would only occur if there was a small area that the enemy wanted to actually capture. If they didn't want to take it, then you'd just want to be able to tie the enemy up long enough to bombard it from orbit.
Of course, actual space combat is likely a very, very long ways away from us at the moment. Heck, we haven't even gotten out of Earth orbit yet! And then, of course, travel times will be killer, and the lack of communications will severely reduce our capability in terms of military intelligence. Fleets would be cut off from outside information for between several minutes and several hours, depending on how far out you are. This is only within the solar system, of course. Barring the invention of instantaneous communication, communication would be next to impossible over interstellar distances. Of course, if we're fighting over these vast distances. we would have to develop an extremely fast method of travel, so that is what would likely limit communication times.
