give the power to the angels, new players dont even know of game commands, you see them spamming penn's system chat, and it will take them more than 10 minutes to get to know about them, unless they are lucky enough to see the programmed message and manage to type /? and then manage to read throught the whole command list and again, manage to think about how /beam or whatever word would work.

Instead, angels could do the favor
such a command will only serve new chars made by players who know a thing or two.. to ease the setup (which is not bad at all)
to help the new comers to chose where to go best thing to do is a starter system with 5 one way holes. one to each house.. maybe more if you want corsairs and outcast worlds

Now this is an idea. There is already a one-way jumpgate in the mod, so this is definately do-able.
The new 'house holes' could be set in Penny's in an out of the way area, so that new people won't know about them right off.
The new people could then be directed to the Forum and hopefully they would read the rules and find out about them.
Cannon has already made a /restart command.
It could be set up with the starter fleas with only a change in where it it is and perhaps a recruit ID instead of civi. Level restriction for use can be set as well on the restart. Set it to 8.
So ok, I want to be an OC. I make my character, i log in, type /restart OC. I get kicked, log back in and poof I'm on Malta in my starter flea.
Yes this can already be done with the plugin that has been made. Just needs set up. The hang up on it may be that "who wants to take the time to set it up?" OR "how will it be abused" OR "Are they just too lazy to fly and set up their ship as they always have?" Dunno really what the hang up is just thoughts *sigh*
Personally I love the restart command. We use it on the USA server for PvP events in Connecticut. Easy way to make sure everyone has exactly what they should have etc. There are talks of using it for Faction restarts as described above, but it is still undecided at this time.

Great idea, but sadly, I doubt it'll get implemented - things like this have been suggested by quite a few people in the past already, but always either got shot down or just died when nobody responded - out of some ununderstandable - at least to me - reason the starting location *has* to be Pennsylvania, period. It's not like there aren't any counterarguments (I'm sure they are), but instead of saying "no, period" you could say "no, because..." and maybe we could find a solution which is satisfactory to all of us...
Igiss either said no (to the Hub idea), or it never happened for some reason.
I actually understood that Penn was going to be a Hub of one way jump holes to the major houses. I was quite surprised to see it "just another" system attached to New York.

I like the once off /playerbeam idea.

Although it is not a bad idea, I there are other alternatives. I personally find this one of the ways that could be considered, however, it is not the best. I personally would like some way doing it without a command.
