They have no jobs and they don't pirate, so how would a Xeno fund himself?
Trading? But they attack Kusari and Rheinland trade routes (or so the rumor says). That leaves Bretonia, so... planetary trade? It's for people and not corporations... but wait, almost everyone hates them so no planet docking. An all-neutral trader, maybe? Can a Xeno have that as a side character? If not, then how about trading between Xeno and IMG bases? IMG is neutral, right?
Basically, I'm just asking how a Xeno could afford an Eagle or better.
And also... does trading commodities affect reputations?
Xenos get supplies on some Zoner bases, rumors at Ames Research Station confirm this. I would assume therefore that they can sell some stolen or otherwise acquired goods on those bases for some income.
EDIT: D'oh. Was thinking in-character entirely there. Yeah, you can mine and sell it at their bases too.
OORP, any trader will do.
In rp, the Xenos are funded by Interspace, in part, and also have a sizable base of civilian supporters. The 'Xenos' that you see in space are merely the elite, the fighter jocks and so forth...They've a massive support structure, as any faction that is capable of fielding any fleet must have, and are 'poor' only in comparison to other factions. So, they're mostly funded by a grassroots, and possible Interspace funding initiative. There are rumors about the Hogosha supporting them, as well. Of course, the Xenos wouldn't know any of their money was coming from the Hogosha.

A few things left in this not answered:
You might have read that Xenos dream of one day taking the Liberty black market away from the Junkers. Because of this a few of us are role playing smugglers that support the Xenos. They are a small group who deal primarily in synth weed and counterfiet software. It almost feels like a contradiction for a Xeno to deal in items produced outside of Liberty but I believe that as long as the Xenos are the ones bringing these materials in, they are ok with it.
Xeno men go shoot buckets in space all day, wasting what few resources their society has.
Xeno women sell themselves to junkers and LPI to fund the cause.

I wouldnt think they'd be ok with it. Sure, it might benefit them, but then they're just hypocrites who dont even believe in their own cause.
Xenos dont want any goods shipped into or out of liberty. They were originally working class citizens who lost their jobs because of outsourcing - kusari, bretonia, and rheinland did things cheaper than liberty could, so liberty ships out the materials and such, and recieves the finished product when it's shipped back in. Xenos exist to stop that entirely, basically they're isolationists.
You just have to say they have an elite of geniuses in Wall Street ! they earn money thanks to anonymous people and societies, buy and resell actions with benefits, and, each ,month, do a discrete transfert to their active friends out of planets...
Suits you ?
But even that way, they earn enough money to survive, not to create an army of caps, That's why they fly only civilian ships (and leaders have been allowed to purchase some Raven's Talon)...
OK for gentle RP, OK for gentle PvP too. What do you prefer ?
Hurk hurk hurk...
