Several things had been rewritten, because chunk of guys took a wrong impression about what and why I wrote such a thing in the first place. This thread is not meant to troll, but to point out my point of view based on experiences on Discovery between 2009 to 2016.
I won't lie when I openly state that Furry Ban somewhat hampered my activity in 2016 and after it. But it never was the only reason for that to me, leading into this point today. What more impacted me was lack of any support and more and more plot-holes within the entire Discovery Freelancer that seem to be either stupid or just to prove point that Story Devs are not capable to offer anything interesting. At all. Someone once said that my stories top the doings of the several-people Story Deving, someone even stating that my smut stories have way more logical background than overall Discovery's lore, full of inconsistencies that had not been removed for a long time - not to mention the lack of communication between the Team and Playerbase which though time led into players leaving Discovery. And do not get me wrong, through these five years I have seen a lot of ups and downs of the community and I can say that certain "you" drag the whole thing down.
I am disappointed by the stance of Administration Team, which had bent - two times - to the most toxic community members, which warned the Discovery admins and devs if they won't do one thing, they will ruin the Discovery. I am disappointed because you people ridiculed a long-lasting member, @SMI-Great.Fox, who received a harsh sea of treatment and abuse after he was unable to express himself with his characters anymore. He lost 7 years just with one decision that was heavily unnecessary and took away his encouragement to do anything at all. The answer that "your roleplay doesn't matter if it gets removed anyway" is not something worthy of someone with position in the Team.
That, actually, was the laziest attempt to convince someone out of going his or her way, just because someone feared that "influential" community members threaned the well-being of Discovery as the community. But that does not apply only to us, SMI and I, who got slapped because some chickenbrains decided it would be nice to gangbang on - in my case, way before I even followed the SMI's way and my several years long roleplay of Hidetaka Kojima and Mori Tsuzumi had been wasted. Myself, being drove into loss of self-esteem in a blind act of revenge against me after I got falsely accused to ruin someone's roleplay. Note I am not speaking about furry characters here, but about the roleplay I had been conducting since 2010 until someone ruined my fun from roleplaying them over the most disastrous week. Hadn't it happened, we would not be having this thread.
I had a trusted person who kept me supplied with enough feedback from certain chats to make a basis of my final statement in all this mess which, as I stated already, leads this place into doom. You may not see it yet, but heed my words when the crap hits the fan sooner than later. I dare to say that. This is not the boat many of us would like to see sunk, but you all are on a good way. The good guys left, leaving some being immature pricks with false sense of power.
You all destroyed this place with your puny powerplays. And seeing that harm had been already done beyond point of healing, just by glancing on how you are digging it yourself.
Let me sum this all up nicely for all of you, dear readers - "Boo hoo, I and some other guy got bullied because we used stuff that didn't really fit into discovery as a whole, but really let me just feel sorry for myself and cry a little."
You first posted that crap in flood a leaving thread, now in discussion. If you have nothing good to say, could you maybe just be consequent and leave this time? Do you expect people to take your emo poetry here serious?
Seriously, what do you expect as response from the community, a community you constantly denied to adapt to with your furry obsession. Your experience in Discovery would have been a thousand times less punishing if you'd have managed to play within the set parameters of the Freelancer universe and not try to bring Sonic, Carebear, Starfox and Thundercats in here. I really don't get what you're trying to achieve, because many people here have managed to adjust and have fun without painting bullseyes on their faces. This place was never ment to be a place for furry RP. This is Freelancer, not Final Fantasy, Green Hill Zone, Super Smash Brothers or something related. You'll be way happier with other communities. You can't change this one, nobody can. Adapt and be happy or leave.
Now i can not speak out of experience but here is an tip.
Freelancer disco mod may be run on you're own server with own ruleset. Why not make an own server and find like minded people. Seems to me that would be much more productive then what you are doing now.
I don't think furry characters ever had a place in Disco, even 7 years ago I remember having issues with the person you mentioned because he found one of my character names to be "offensive" to furries. I think Discovery did better without that level of lore breaking freedom.
As for shit hitting the fan. Not sure what's left to hit. Server is basically on life support.
I'm trying to be productive with criticism. I became a player lashed out because I dared to step onto someone's toes and in return my roleplay since 2010 - all of it being human characters - being erased by bunch of jerks who thought it would be fun to ruin a guy having no influential friends who would help you, like in case of Heavy Decision in which the most toxic players that had been banned returned under the threat of Discovery's destruction by their friends.
P.S. You drag out the Furry Ban. The Furry Ban was never the reason, but effect of the reasons I try to point out in here. SMI went through the very same thing I went back in late 2015 in which group of players sacked on me just because I was believed to be one to ruin one faction.
Even Admins told me they could not do anything with that, because presented evidence was not evidence at all, as these guys fulfilled their IDs and stuff. But it was not just in game, but also on Skype and via e-mails, threating me to leave Discovery for good else I will really regret it.
