I can't help but feel though that the backlash for removing a vanilla faction would have been anticipated. With the RoS, Gallic Junkers (rip) and IKN people were at least told prior to their removal that they were getting taken out of the mod. LWB's removal came, afaik, without previous announcement. It should have had a community discussion at least since touching vanilla factions is a sensitive subject.
I think the potential ramifications of this are also a concern.
Firstly, my personal experience doesn't really make me too confident that something accidentally, unintentionally or temporarily axed out of the mod can make a swift return (#bringbackourcapetown).
Secondly, undoing the deletion of a faction is huge. Not only will it require effort to re-implement everything that was deleted, but how are the players supposed to react? Is LWB suddenly returning supposed to be considered a retcon? Or were the leaders of LWB just playing a prank and they didn't really vanish?
What is Rheinland supposed to RP wise, when such a volatile change may be around for an unknown period of time?
All things said, I feel like this part of the update wasn't well thought out. No offense.

Simply dissipated would be enough to assume. While I don't agree with the sudden removal of this faction - I also don't see its importance in the mod. That being said there are several other factions which this could be applied to.
Can all of you stop bitching for a few seconds and take the time to appreciate the rest of the patch?
Puerto Rico looks absolutely amazing, especially the stations. The unstable jumphole there is a good meme. I appreciate the fact that Wyvern/Scorpion had their hitboxes fixed, and the rest of the little additions were pretty cool too, especially the gate in Poole. Reading through the story progression part did breathe back some motivation into me too, even though not that major.
Why the hell everybody feels "so offended" about a vanilla faction being removed. Some of you are certain against/afraid of change. If the faction is either a) unactive like at all and b) could've been replaced with something else/more interesting, why the hell not ?
Some of you have problems of thinking this rationally. There are chances, that a faction could not resist in time during it's circumstances and now I'm speaking about RP aspects. You can make it to certain IRL groups that if they are not strong enough, they are being defeated one way or another. Make the analogy to "how it could happen in real life" but put in the FL context, and nothing is so scary or OMFG after that.
Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh, you touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding. - Sovereign
I haven't gotten to see much yet, but the updated starspheres look REALLY good! Kusari finally looks beautiful like it ought to. In addition, it's nice to see stars in starspheres where, for example in Omicron Gamma, has/had a patch of black with no stars. Before, it was like there was just nothing there; like a void in space where there are no stars or planets to speak of. Creepy! Now it looks nice.
The new starspheres look really nice, as well as jumpgate/docking ring tweaks. But yeah, people are correct to be outraged at the LWB removal. Especially when the reasoning is pretty much "lol we need more iffs, and no one gives a crud about LWB anyway".
