Rebalance Suggestion: Nodock for Indie police IDs, Lawful Sellpoint Smuggling buff.

In short, as a RFP| HC member and former leader, I like this suggestion.

To elaborate - the proposed high price of premium police ID (it is sort of SRP, so I would price it with same 250 million fee or even more since it´s SRP without need to extra work for it) should be enough to separate players which are serious about playing a cop from lolwuts and also should make them act responsibly (especially if the ID will state that any abuse of the nodock will be sanctioned harshly including tempbans or ships deletions for example). And those who do not want to pay can always apply to official factions whose perk will be to have the /nodock ID for free. Definitely worth a try.

On topic of ores: I think their prices should be higher than regular cargo because it still takes time to mine or you are buying it from POB for quite high price (usually around 3000 or so, most NPC cargos are not that expensive). But contraband should be on same level or even little higher for reasons which were stated.

Regarding merge of the police and military - well, that´s a hard one from both inRP as well as ooRP perspective. Problem is that only reason to do that is to give official lawful factions better chance to fulfill activity requirements because of the combined playerbase. However such decision should be left to players of the respective official factions. Otherwise there is no reason to do that and we would remove another vanilla content because this change would require to introduce whole new faction type, some sort of "general house security forces" faction which will never be as cool as separate military and police factions in my opinion.

I know what most of you fear, that newbies will abuse function to troll players. In that case, why not limit CD usage to oficial faction only to, becouse we see many examples of CD trolling to? And it is such cheap and powerful tool to!

Give newbies some chance, maybe they will not disappointed you. Besides, most sanctions i see is not made by newbies, it is made by by veterans!

Although CDing someone who is "allied" with your ID is trolling it's not half as powerful as preventing dock abilities for a couple of mins. a "revolution" isn't coming and official factions (especially those that have lasted the test of time) have earned their bragging rights and perks.

*My proposal is to include two things - First is to enable the Nodock Command for independent police IDs. One of the main results of previous discussions is that an indie ID is too easily gotten for such a game mechanic. Any player can restart a police ID and have access. The fix is very simple though - we can, if needed, add four completely new IDs that cost 150-500 million credits and are a carbon copy of the regular Police IDs in terms of lines. These would be the IDs to get the nodock feature and the steep price would be not only a good enough entry barrier, but also an expensive item that is much less likely to be abused, lest the player wishes to lose it.

Making it cost an absurd amount of money won't do a thing to prevent abuse though, we're all familiar with JoeRus McAverage cruising around in his CAU8 coffin silently engaging all red what he see. A much better limitation - correct me if this is already in place; I have to plead guilty to not playing police factions - is simply limiting the command to bases which have police IFF. In all honesty, I wouldn't mind every faction having a nodock command for bases of their own IFF.

*Once this is done, now you have an excuse to actually implement buffs to smuggling commodities, of which we have a very good amount of as is. Though with one specific limitation - the buffed CPS needs to involve only the sellpoints on Capital Planets, instead of the much less risky unlawful bases. Due to the way how POBs have shafted mining by removing the need for group activity, there is no reason why ore should retain its high cps rating and it would be better if that standard went to smuggling commodities instead - as mentioned before, only to the capital planet sellpoints.

PoB requirements are about to be readjusted, so they are not a teamplay anymore.

I really hope that includes -increasing- requirements for the construction. There are already troubles with spam of illegal POBs without any single sign of roleplay in house space so if they will be even easier to make, then god save us.

Add a rule to regulate its use responsibly. It is easy to prove if the function is abused and people are nodocked without sufficient and reasonable roleplay backing, and if the nodock indy ID costs 500mils, the idea of losing it on a whim if intentionally misused would be quite of a deterrent. How about that?

Deterrents aren't all that appealing to me because I feel as if we're largely dealing with a playerbase that doesn't understand consequences due to language barrier to begin with. Maybe I'm not giving them enough credit. Punishing on a case by case basis is going to make the staff workload skyrocket. We're already at our limit and desperately in need of fresh green blood.

nerf mining so more people will become smugglers ?? why not just raise the profit for smuggling and leave mining as it is ?? let players decide how they want to play .. as an off- peak timeplayer, I really am not keen on having to mine then fly my hegemon across the map to sell the goods. being new I also have not played long enough to compare the present system to any other. mining is already a waste of time if one is not a faction member. in 6moths of play I have beeen pirated 5 times total. that feels low, there is a whole ot of space and seemingly few players, I would think that some systems would have npcs that were actually dangerous in em. as they are they really are just noisey and bumpy, other than that they may as well not even be in the game .. I have ,one time ony, been hit with the nodock, when behaving badly. sort of, I like it, Not sure if giving that to indies or newbs would be a good idea or not. wold be intersteing certainly ..lol
