The conflict in Delta has made one thing abundantly clear, my personal craft is in need of modification for increased versatility and performance. The Odin I have had for years has performed faithfully and been my saving grace more than once, but its age has given rise to several faults.
The power grid only just barely managed to cope with our native weaponry and has over time degraded due to increased output stress. The engine systems though very powerful are prone to overheating and the electronics suite leaves much to be desired.
A comprehensive overhaul is in order and I have earned that much through my continued service, I am hereby requisitioning Mykolaiv to do just that.
I want this communication responded to as soon as possible.

TO: Commissar Krsnik FROM: SCEC CRO Dr. Mstislav Belov RE: Request on "Thor" modification.
Comrade Krsnik,
Although SCEC is more exploratory and scientific organ, rather than engineering one, our specialists will render you all the assistance within their capabilities. As you most probably know from our previous reports, the study of REDACTED has yielded some interesting findings that we are testing to apply to ship armour and weapons system. Speaking of the latter, we have a few experimental guns that you might like, given the dangers you face on everyday basis. We are also making progress with robotech and AI of our own, report thereon to be published soon. Thus, we can install sophisticated board-AI to your ship for improved accuracy and response as well as alleviation of simultaneous interpretation and interrogation protocols.
I think, that our engineers can have a look at ship's design and try to tinker with it, although it might take time and I am not sure on possible results.
SCEC also stands ready to assist in any other fashion if provided with more specific requests and/or wishes. At any rate, feel free to contact HCTSA designates at Mykolaiv Station or directly SCEC at Plesetsk.

The reactor needs to be both restored and modified to better support our weaponry, it was not built to sustain much else besides what the Hessians employ.
The engines are in desperate need of tuning as they are not the original set that came with the ship, while their performance is much higher, it comes at the cost of less reliability, this simply has to be corrected and perhaps a new engine unit will have to be constructed for the ship.
Additionally any features that would both add to the factors of intimidation and lethality would be welcome, I have a design overhaul in mind, in short it will involve an unusual choice of paint.
The armour plating must also be entirely swapped out for the tried and tested plating used on the insurgent, which will also reduce operation cost.
Please inform me of any recommendations you might have in regards to modification.

TO: Commissar Krsnik FROM: SCEC CRO Dr. Mstislav Belov RE: Request on "Thor" modification.
Comrade Commissar Krsnik,
SCEC is ready to report on the process of working on your request regarding modification of “Odin” member. We have achieved significant progress and we believe that the prototype is ready to be used in real actions. I personally oversaw the project and conducted the experiments for some of the technologies and vouch for the quality of the work done.
Red Hessians are fine engineers, yet they lack full military-oriented theoretical research division, resulting in crude yet effective design of their ships. We at Plesetsk employed our construction division and a team on thermonuclear fusion to develop a new engine, energy grid, and hull as you requested. We also implemented a test-version of adaptive hull materials, automatic interrogation module, and a brand-new board AI “Nastya” to alleviate the control of the vessel and improve the accuracy of the weapons system.
1. Engine
The whole problem of “Odin” lies within its engine. The vessel is bulky and power-demanding while a simple fusion core installed in “Odin” is insufficient to support continuous fire of Coalition tachyon-based weapons and maximum speed at the same time. The energy grid is also part of the problem since power distribution is not well optimised.
Our team came to conclusion that we needed to overhaul the very fusion core from the scratch. Using the recent findings by Aspirant Shweik in Omicron Omega system, namely the scraps from AI drones from all across Omicrons, their optimised code and computing templates, SCEC constructed a new supercomputer SCC-X1 (SuperComputer of Coalition – eXperimental 1) that exceeded our previous one in productivity by 16.39%.
The new computing environment allowed us to generate a better and more accurate model of a compact fusion reactor and predict the behaviour of plasma in it. Instead of using our old Coalition tokamak with toroid shade of a magnetic trap, we created a quasi-symmetric stellarator in a shape of a “pressed donut” that allows to stably trap plasma of heavier elements. Instead of Deuterium and tritium commonly used in snub-spacecrafts across Sirius, including by Red Hessians, the new stellarator fusion reactor is more similar to ones we use on our capital vessels with Bor-11 (11B) and Helium-3 (3He).
The new type of fuel increased the power output on average by 58.94%. This number could have been much bigger, but we decided that this was enough for a VHF and instead reduced the size of the engine, allowing to use more adaptive plating to protect the core in fights. Theoretically, the new engine (“Coalition’s Odin Prototype Engine 1” or COPE-1) can also allow to achieve higher cruiser-mode speed alike of light or heavy fighters. 2. Armour
The armour used on your “Odin” in particular was of Coalition origin and therefore of high quality standard. Knowing how to work with our own design, it was not difficult to come up with new solutions. Instead of metal alloys used on our regular snubs we used materials from organic chemistry, primarily Fullerene (C60). The Fullerene-based nanotubes allowed to create a light and extremely durable even to tachyon-based weapons carcass that will not disintegrate even in close proximity NEMP detonation. However, the plating was not possible to be created of Fullerene completely, and we used adaptive armour from the alloy of Titanium and gold (Ti3Au) that is extremely durable, and Kevlar-based underlining that is capable of “healing” the holes in case of a hull breach to prevent dehermetisation. The cockpit was also enhanced with self-regenerating polymer glass to minimise threat to the pilot.
We are also proud to admit, that the new armour is significantly lighter that the old one and it allows to increase the maximum speed of the object even further, make it more responsive and maneuvreable. Besides, Fullerene being a superconductor, the armour carcass by itself acts as a second energy grid that can be employed in case of damage or malfunction of the primary one.
3. Energy grid
The enegry grid used by the Hessians on “Odin” was incompatible with Coalition weaponry and engine power-delivery and thus, needed to be replaced completely. Knowing of your needs to work undercover and use non-Coalition technologies from time to time, we decided not to invent something completely new but to take our designs from LWB fighter “Sichel”. The energy grid of ex-LWB is very universal and compatible with most of Sirian weaponry. With slight modifications and adding Fullerene as a superconductor in some parts of the grid, as well as introducing Fullerene amrour-carcass as secondary energy grid, we believe it shows good performance.
4. AI
The aforementioned findings of Apirant Shweik’s research on AI have contributed to the development of our own AI. Transports aside, “Nastya” AI is a not a fully-fledged GAI but a sophisticated AI for specific purposes. “Nastya” showed boost in pilot’s accuracy when assisting to aim and with re-direction of power-delivery to primary power consumption modules depending on the situation. It is capable of voice communication in all Coalition and Houses languages, as well as of Corsairs and Crayterians. We will not mention all functions, as you will discover and try them by yourselves. What we would like to stress is the automatic interrogation module of “Nastya” that scans the target of interrogation in real-time, provides you on the background of his/her physical parameteres as heartbeat, etc, to give insight into how interrogation is going and changes your voice tone automatically to subconsciously create the effect of a gravely threat or panic. This module can be used at a distance of up to 25 metres and is capable of scanning through the ship hull. I personally have to mention, that interrogation patterns and subconscious effect is based off REDACTED “telepathy” that we have observed for many times during the encounters. Therefore, the use of the module can raise some suspicion and hate from some factions. Use with caution.
The scientific details on the project will later on be published separately, in case you want to read all the theory regarding the prototypes.
Allow me to express my fascination with this ship. It is state of the art of Coalition technology and you will be the Herald of our technological supremacy. Be proud of it and show no mercy when killing the People’s enemies.
In addition I have to mention, that the production of such a vessel is extremely expensive endeavour due to the materials, so we can not mass-produce them at the moment. Although we believe, that with proper funding Plesetsk can assemble the whole wing of those in a few months.

Your work is superb, Doctor.
I was not wrong in trusting you with this project, it could have been handled no better, but the craft misses one element, an intimidating exterior. But this is not your short-coming but mine, after inspecting your craftsmanship I have a few smaller requests for you.
I want the front-facing portion of both wings sharpened, especially the tips, hard enough to rend and puncture flesh and most armor-alike, less wasteful than expending power to put a downed pilot out of his misery.
Gather prisoners of the following origins from our lock-up, one of each and as follows, Libertonian, Gallic, Rheinlandic, Cretan, Maltese and Kusarian, but I want all of them to be males and to have been imprisoned for especially brutal methods of combating their enemies. I want these men restrained and made to kneel near several sections of the craft and then have their throats slit, the incision should rupture the jugular and cause them to more or less paint the craft with a crimson accent fitting of our banner.
Once this task is accomplished I want you to seal in the mess, preserve their blood into the very metal that the craft is forged from. A reminder of the gravest folly one can make if our dominance is opposed.
You are also welcome to test the sharpness and performance of the sharpened wings on any prisoner of your liking, the goal for this modification is to achieve instantaneous death if the pilots are hit at impulse speed with thrust engaged.
With this, I will then personally begin unveiling our latest triumph of technology and warfare.

TO: Commissar Krsnik FROM: SCEC CRO Dr. Mstislav Belov RE: Request on "Thor" modification.
Comrade Commissar Krsnik,
I extend my apologies for delaying the reply. The eminent threat looming over Plesetsk and overall business of Mykolaiv facility have a bit postponed the execution of your request.
According to your preferences, we re-forged the armour plating of the wings and calculated the changes to trajectory and velocity given the new shape. Overall, the lightness of the new Ti3Au plating allowed to even slightly increase the maneuvreability of the ship. The material of the blades was reinforced with the coating we use for out boarding equipment that is designed to pierce capital ships’ hull.
Your request regarding blood was a bit unexpected, but absolutely tangible. The sharpened wings were tested on the prisoners in question. As expected, human flesh was ripped apart without efforts. We also tested the blades against a standard fighter and bomber armour plating. The material used for boarding inflicted severe damage against the plating, as expected. If ran against the cockpit the wing, given appropriate momentum, will cut enemy fighter in half. This said, we believe you should be pleased.
The arterial blood from the slit throats of the prisoners was collected as you requested and added to the radiation-resistant paint applied to the fuselage. We also symbolically added their blood to the alloys the armour of the vessel is made of. Taking my own initiative, we added a small circle-shaped vial in the cargo holder near the energy grid, the magnetic field of which because of the proximity to the vial always keeps the blood circulating. I believe, enemies’ blood literally “circulating” in your ship is something that you might appreciate, comrade Commissar.
Speaking of the armour and the core, I have in-details discussed them in our previous message. To sum up, I need to stress that the grid is originally based on LWB “Sichel” allowing full-compatibility, the core is of our own unique design providing the ship and all the experimental technologies with sufficient and stable energy flow, the armour is also our unique experimental design. "Nastya" AI is although limited due to the size of the ship, is programmed with an optimised IFF signatures detection protocols capable of detecting infectees in a more easier and automatized fashion.
As of now, your ship is assembled at Mykolaiv Station. The sum-up schematics of energy grid, armour, design features, etc. are provided hereafter should you be interested to study them.

I have spent the better portion of the past day studying the schematics you sent me and learning the smallest of details about the craft that you have so diligently refurbished and revolutionized for me. So much is the same, but yet, so much is different, the animal is the same but the breed has evolved.
Stage one of this project can thus be concluded and is owed entirely to the hard-work of yourself and your fellow men. Stage two can now begin, this vessel has seen years of trial and tribulation, victory and bitter defeat, and it has carried me through all of it. I will commend your skills and accomplishments on this project to the Premier himself, surely good work deserves recognition.

The prototype of this new Odin seems to be relatively finished, but I have still not tested all of its new features in a controlled environment or taken a close look at it in person as of yet. These are all things that I would like to do, so prepare your engineers and technicians and we will see to testing the quality of your work in a controlled environment, within New Moscow of course.
Respond at your earliest convenience, the sooner I can put the ship back into active service, the better.

Standard procedure, the same kind used for the Insurgent and its assorted brethren. Any increased utility the craft can display over our mainstay fighter would be a success, any shortages would need to be addressed and mitigated, if at all possible.
