This may not be very productive, but why not put music onto a portable music player, like cell/mobile phone or a MP3/4 player or an iPod?
Thats what I do. I just crank up the metal in a fight and that gets my trigger finger going, it also somehow increases my accuracy. Getting your mind in gear really helps.
If you want a sample of the Freelancer music give me a shout, (my upload speed is pretty slow though) my friend gave me a copy of his Freelancer OST disk, so I got the freelancer music in mp3 format. After a lot of re-encoding with WinAmp.
If anyone wants the soundtrack/bonus disc, I can PM the link (it's a four gig file >.<). Once again, kudos Treewyrm for that.

Because I don't have one, and I don't currently have the income to be able to get one. And my computer's not good enough to run Winamp or something in the background while playing.
Anyway, since Adamantine said he didn't have to do anything, I may as well give it a shot... when I can decide what goes where, anyway.

Use Audacity (free at download.com) and save the file to the specifications Boss mentioned in his post.
Apparently a simple replacement worked well enough, didn't have to do anything special and it works.
That's good. Still not finished yet, though.
Unfortunately, I can't install Windows Media Player (for some reason, my Windows XP installation can't be verified), and nothing else I've tried has been able to play the original FL music files. Could someone perhaps type up a list of what goes where? I mean, things like music_li_space are pretty obvious, but for one example, I don't know what's playing in that ice cloud at the east end of Cortez.
XTriton: My computer kinda sucks. Plus, I prefer for these things to be automated and contained within one program instead of needing to have two or three open. A little more work now for a little less work later.
' Wrote:The music is usually done for the various generic names of space. IE Edgeworld, Borderworlds etc.
Yeah, I got all those replaced except Kusari, Rheinland, and Bretonia, but returning to my old example, the ice cloud by the Cortez->California Jump Gate is still using the original music, and I have no idea what that one is.
Quote:Try VLC media player, usually works for everything.
I did. Didn't work for this.
But I'm an idiot and forgot that Audacity can play music files, and it can play these.
Thanks for the help everyone.
Edit: This time that issue wasn't there in that cloud, but popped up near Montezuma. Argh.
