Two different, but not separate. Like said before, I see them going hand to hand. One is important for the other, they are often related. Least not forget that serious and well-thought roleplay within itself has constraints which help player being responsible to what he/she does in the game. So don't be quick cutting one from another, there are bonds holding them together and I'd rather have it that way. Most of the time one is shown through the other and vice versa. Roleplay too varies from ship class as well actually, for example to roleplay battleship using one-man fighter model would look quite off the mark. Much like there are ship classes so there are also roleplay models, those models vary from each other and have different implementations, and so forth. To some certain models are easier to play than the others, hence wide choice of what you can be here. But limits exist nonetheless, there are always borders.
As I personally see responsibility and roleplay going along together for most of the time I think it is required to be both responsible and good roleplayer when it comes to big guns in general. Doesn't mean that anything less can be ooRP, not at all (and where did that extreme came from anyway?). Bigger guns - bigger responsibility, but also roleplay that reflects ship class accordingly. I wouldn't put roleplay models on one dimensional scale, but also wouldn't say there is no difference too.

The beauty of RP is shown here. Everyone's view is different. Lovely stuff.

If you think so. . .I'll be sending you a very muddled and angry PM.

Agreed.
Roleplay is down to the individual in most cases. However it is important to research what you're playing so as not to tread on anyone elses shoes.
If your story conflicts in a destructove way with someone elses already established story then it would be best not to do it IMO.
I mean the idea that Nomad ships are unpilotable is something that I personally stick to. I know that other people don't and thats just fine, but I prefer to just imagine that any Nomad LF I see, is a Nomad somehow seperated from the mindshare.
I will carry on doing this until someone tells me I'm wrong.:P
Treewyrm's opinion matches what I was about to say when I first read Jinx's post. A slight deviation from what he have already said, and I agree with him in what he did say, is that there are different qualities of characters.
The more extraordinary the character you are portraying is, be it in terms of the power he is available to tap in game (PvP aspect), be it in its uniqueness, the more difficult it is for you to role play it and for others to role play to it in turn (ambiance aspect). It goes somewhat in the same terms of the already stated "big ship leads to big responsibility", but I'd rephrase that to "big role leads to greater concern in conforming to a sensible ambiance".
This veers away from the size and power of a ship, but includes it. I wouldn't say that it's acceptable for a Rhino pilot to be out of character, but I'd say it's more acceptable that a player portraying a Rhino pilot be more lax about that role. He may very well portray an irresponsible or not sane person without imposing (both on the PvP and ambiance aspects of role play) himself too much onto others. An unique character such as the captain of a gigantic and powerful ship or a very out of the ordinary character/ship does impose onto others and there's where lies the issue.
It's not "okay" for anyone to be out of character. But its "okay" for a small role to be portrayed in less depth than a very big one. Or, in other words, the bigger the role, the bigger the responsibility or even, the bigger should be the concern in conforming to a sensible ambiance.
EDIT: That being said, it would be much nicer if you thought about the implications of flying extraordinary characters prior to doing so.

What, you never watched farscape?
Anyways, from what I understand, the 'ship' itself is just an organic blob, the nomad is actually a smaller brain residing inside of it, so with proper technology you could probably remove the brain and put a cockpit inside - even though it doesnt look right since no human is shown inside the ship model when you're flying it.
I've though about trying out a nomad character with the LF before, but it only has class 9 weapon slots - meaning you cant use any nomad guns or codenames, and slapping normal faction guns onto a nomad... just doesnt seem right.
I'd really like to have a nomad character too... or a wilde, but I was never accepted into the wilde based on the story I wrote up. Shame too... I want to see what's inside all those nomad bases =P
' Wrote:its just - people get offended more by more powerful ships. - i don t know why ppl think its fine when a rhino freighter is ooRP, but then they get upset when a rheinland cruiser is ooRP. - is it cause they feel that the cruiser has to have more responsibilities cause it has more firepower? - that would be focussing on a pvp aspect. - it requires a different roleplay though.
hey jinx, i think its because when people see the image of someone in a cruiser or BS they realise that the person has saved up dramatically to be able to afford, therefore being on the server quite a while to realise what RP and ooRP is.

Thx guy's. I have been trying alot of the light/Heavy fighter's in the game just for the fun of it,and everytime i go to Kappa and see the nomad ship i wondered. I still do not know if i will try it,as what was said it cannot mount nomad gun's which i find a little stupid. But i do like fast agile ship's, and i think the nomad would be 1.
