In short, there is simply no scope for this concept to work because infection doesn't work the way you think it can. You're still going to get shot at by every human faction simply because of the lore implications of being infected. If you want to try playing the middle ground between being infected and being yourself, look at the Commune.
I dunno about that. I've found at least one Human faction that is open to this.
I don't know if they're here, but in game the characters all start with ND-TV.
Dawnseeker is the one I spoke to and he recommended that I say something on the Forum about this.
Also, someone earlier (I think It was Burning) mentioned an idea that he (or she) had.
We are Infected that were separated from the mindshare/hive due to research done by The Order. So we now serve ourselves once more.
And we might even serve our saviors, The Order, Life-Debt style. I mean, we do owe them our lives for saving us from becoming like the other Infected.
It was already told to you that infection does not work the way you think it does.
The Incubi can and will override his host's actions when needed, and will not hesitate to kill himself and the host should the necessity rise.
The way you are playing around this is never going to work on Discovery, it does break the lore and, if you indeed want to step into something that works as middle ground between the Nomads and the humanity - you might want to turn your attention to The Commune, or The Oracles.
But this is breaking the established lore, and thus should stop here.
Peace, being the distant dream it is, comes inevitably, and goes hand in hand with justice.
Cursed be the war.
Doesn't this sound like.... Aurora? Remember when we had 3 split factions in Nomads = Aurora, K'Hara and Nyctores or something (if anyone already said that, well sorry didn't bother to read all 7 pages). So the peace nomads thing was abandoned as a bad idea long ago, don't think it'll work now.
I know you said "We are not nomads" but the concept still works the same way. There are also Oracles, Commune and other stuff that pretend to be... Things.
Not three. Nyctores did exist (at least as a concept) but for a ridiculously brief amount of time and then just disappeared. And as far as I can recall, Aurora (A player ship iirc) was a part of it, not a separate thing.
As for what, why, and when? Dunno. The difference here being it was an actual nomad group/faction/idea unlike this one.
Either way, no one will ever be happy with anything regarding Nomads or anything related to them.
I think the only thing you are infected with is the ability to ignore what people tell you.
If you are infected by nomads, then this won't work. It is that simple. There is one hivemind, two if you count vagrants. Come up with something if you want a third that makes sense. Something like "uh order did some Research" is a stupid excuse to become nomad infected who do not want to follow what nomads want and dont even care basically.
I think this is the wrong section if this is not a faction by the way, which you have said like 4 times in the initial post. Can we have this moved?
Just want to clarify that I'm the player mentioned by Saphira123456. Since I've mostly just lurked until now and come back recently to see the new update and properly get involved with the community I had told Saphira that it would be best to contact the admins or the leaders of the K'hara with his idea as they are the most relevant authorities. I might also have said a forum post would work, probably my bad there. As to what unfolded here, I'd be lying if I said this outcome wasn't foreseen.
With my limited understanding of Nomads, I can see how his idea or concept could work but it'd require people with a far better grasp on Nomad lore and even then it's an 'out there' concept. Personally I just felt super awkward not knowing where to stand when confronted with something that's very clearly SRP territory and shaky SRP territory at that.
To you, Saphira, I'm sorry that it sort of panned out like this. I'd hoped this whole process would have been a bit smoother and less hostile (though believe me I understand why people would be on these topics) but I just wasn't the person to be laying down the law on what people can and can't do with certain factions. I still think you roleplay pretty well and will be glad to see you in game some more but I'm probably going to be ignoring any of the Nomad related stuff.
Before you consider writing yourself into other factions lore (especially with this "peaceful Nomads created by Order") you should consider seeing said faction whether they would even approve or do such a thing. The Order's role in regards of Nomads is to eliminate them as a species to prevent aliens from being a threat ever again. Not to let it out to Sirius to spread its pestilence (this is how Order would actually view you), regardless of your peaceful intentions or not.
If anything, we would be striving towards permanently killing the parasite and restoring the original human in there to a state from before an infection, if outright removal is not an option. Infections are rarely non-violent and those who submitted themselves willfully were either high on psychotropics, brainwashed into devotion of Nomad kind or the more to the ground making a pact with a devil at expense of your soul.

Please keep in mind that this was a (probably very stupid) idea I had from less than a minute of thinking. I'm certain that such a scenario is not on par with the lore and even though I tend to be very open for new things people come up with, I doubt such roleplay can be pulled off as it would be a serious alteration of how things work in Discovery.
I have an advice for you and your group: Each of you create new characters which are roleplay-focused. Begin very simple. Possibly get someone with more knowledge of Discovery ruleset and lore to assist you. Over time, your characters develope to become more complex and if you still feel like it, push it into the direction of the nomads and see what's the outcome.
You guys should just start out as Freelancers. Freelancers that are open about reaching out to the Nomads for peace maybe? The religious cult thing has been done, maybe go at it like a 'Humanitarian Organization' but humanitarians for aliens. From that I'm sure all sorts of folk will hate your or like you. You'll be accused of treason to humanity by some I'm sure. Even the Nomads might think you're crazy. From there worry about infection and who might wind up like what. Your angle is doable, but it will take a lot to change the lore of Nomads and infectees being extremely hostile. For a very long time, you'd have to accept you might wind up a black sheep in the Omicrons, but the idea of normal people being crzay enough to try to bridge the gap is interesting.
