The Zoner gunship sat across from Freeport 6, enforcing the neutral zone and keeping the lanes quiet. Inside the ship, Administrator Chara paced while his ship commander, Captain West, manned the comm.
"So who is it that we're waiting for anyway?" he asked Blaine.
"Let me see if I get this right," he stated, stopping his pace and thought a moment. His Gallic was weak at best. "I think it's a Lieutenant Emilie-Sophie de Belmond."
"Do you know what she's flying?" West asked.
Blaine just shook his head and resumed pacing.
For a few minutes that seemed like an eternity, Blaine had a lot on his mind as a trade ship passed by. The Bretonian take-over of Omega 49 infuriated him and now his cruiser was being repaired after being on the losing side of a fight with the Bretonians. He knew help was needed as his crews weren't well trained in combat. That battle brought him to that reality. He himself was a former ground commando for the Liberty government but not a ship captain. He felt that Bretonia should pay for every square inch of Gran Canaria and he was making a move to see it happen.
While Blaine paced, a ship came on approach through the lanes. It was a Gallic ship.
"Gallic ship, this is Captain Brian West of the MacDonough, please identity."
For the moment, the musclebound, burly Blaine Chara turned and listened in.
