Surprising comet impact on New Berlin

An absolute nightmare occured in the New Berlin system merely two hours ago. A small comet hit Rheinland's capital planet with incredible speed. At this point of time we can't tell about the scale of this apocalyptic event's consequences, but the images we see right here are telling more than words could ever do.

We received these images from panicked patrol pilots of the Rheinwehr, which were just about to move to the Frankfurt system to enter the Sektor Sieben as they witnessed the hell breaking loose on the cold metropolis of New Berlin. Any contact with the surface had been lost for a while until Patrouillenkreuzer RWK Sommerlatte announced a successful reestablishing of communications with the planet. Only a few words were exchanged before the Oberkommando declared the situation top secret.

We asked our science expert Yahalom Rabis of the Stollberg Universität of Hamburg to explains how such a scenario could occur.

"We are talking about a one out of myriads chance here. While planetary defenses in our age are mostly able to deal with any cosmical threat of this size, meaning asteroids and other spacial objects that threaten to collide with a planet, they simply weren't present this time.

As if the cosmos knew about the temporary weakness of the capital, it struck, sending a, in astronomical scales, tiny rock with just enough velocity to New Berlin, from an angle that made it very difficult to identify the object in time, that the results of this otherwise preventable occurance have been similar to the detonation of enough nuclear warheads to destroy every lifeform on the planet."

Luckily, shortly after this interview, it was confirmed that while the event looked horrible from space, it was not a total loss on the surface, as multiple BDM facilities seemed to have survived the impact. We are exclusively sharing this audio clip we received here on The Ring before the Military evacuated the station:

"Agent Landers here. Shields are holding, requesting extraction. Sensors indicate the complete destruction off all Military POIs as well as the Bundestag. Project Bunniehop was a complete success."

At this point it is unclear what Project Bunniehop is refering to. Did the BDM see this event coming? Or did they even cause it? Social Media is currently going wild as the leaks are spreading. Meanwhile we are trying to keep the facts out there. We asked the local commanding officer of the Rheinland Military, who confirmed that the Military is currently not able to deal with the situation in any way on the surface. According to his information, all RM assets on New Berlin have been destroyed in less than 19 minutes■
