Aya did not move. It is not my style to make the first move. It is wiser to let your foes come to you. Better to observe the enemy's move, even briefly. It gives the advantage to the one reacting. Making the first move exposes you. Patience is the way to victory.
Yoshigahara smiled at Aya, still keeping her sword hidden. "Patience is for new warriors. How would you react if several swift strikes without the pause were applied against you?" Yoshi said and began walking towards Aya, with sword in front of her face. "Are you ready for this? Hmmm?" Yoshigahara stopped, closed her eyes and imagined every single move and possible response. Smile appeared on her face, and Yoshigahara dashed to Aya, launching swift strikes at her chest area with unsheathed sword.
The matriarch smiled. First mistake you made is raise your weapon against your superiour. Were you samurai, you would be ronin now. Second mistake is disregard the virtue of patience. Once you lose that, you will not be an old warrior, you will be dead.
She nimbly stepped aside and parried the sword a couple of times.
Yoshigahara was prepared for another strike playfully walking around in steady rhythm.. "Superior also shouldn't bait her soldiers into mistakes and should know who her warriors are. Offering me a weapon is pretty much same like offering kid a chocolate." Yoshi said still walking around, keeping her unsheathed sword at her side now. "I was raised through the path of the warrior, hardened by the trials of my father. I will fight as long as it's necessary. I am not interested in becoming an old warrior through boring way of patience and waiting. I wanna have some fun and on the edge between life and death, I will be proud of my memories." Yoshigahara said and launched one more strike on Aya.
She parried the strike again, making no efford to go into the offensive, and took a step backward towards the west side of the room You think I am baiting you? I am just testing you. I know exactly who my warriors are. Tell me Yoshigahara of house Kiwako. Who is the most likely to win a battle?
Yoshigahara lowered her head, keeping weapon by her side. "Usually it's the one who saves strenght for fight, diplomats usually fail, warriors decide. The one who is silent, brave, wise, dedicated." Yoshi said and with a smile she threw weapon to Aya. "You know what they say about true warriors? How can you become the master? I know the answer, yet I struggle with it." Yoshigahara grinned and turned her back to Aya as she wanted to proceed back to the table.
She looked at Yoshi with a disapointed expression. You are a coward. I guess I was wrong about you after you after all. You are no warrior. What a shameful display to drop your weapon before it is over. Did you think I was done with you yet?
Yoshigahara stopped walking, keeping her back turned to Aya. Kiku on the other hand looked at Yoshi with terrified look. "Did you just call me a coward?" Yoshi said in calm manner. "Sister please... Just understand it's apparently their tradition. Don't do anything stupid." Kiku was trying her best to keep Yoshi calm. But it wasn't working that well. "It seems my sister hasn't warned you properly. Once I get into my rage, I am unstoppable, rage fills me and I slay everything around. Do you want to get yourself killed?" Kiku looked at Aya. "Lady, my sister just wanted to say she doesn't want to hurt you and that it's wise to leave it like that... Can't you two stop?" Kiku asked, standing up. Yoshigahara pulled out a short knife from her sleeve, still having her back turned to Aya.
She looked at Yoshi's back, noticing the slight movement of her hidden knife A general rule in feudal times is not to draw your blade if you do not let it taste blood while drawn. She picked up the sword Yoshi threw at her feet. Your answer was well formulated, but not the right one. So I ask again. Who is most likely to win a battle?
Yoshigahara turned to face Aya with anger, her eyes were full of fire. "I will more than gladly listen to your answer, pitiful diplomat. If you can answer mine about the mastering of warrior skill." Yoshi said still keeping her knife in hand. "Go ahead, I am waiting." Yoshigahara had to grin, waiting patiently for some mumbling.
