I think the best course of action for this ship would be to recolor it, smooth it out and make it the replacement model for the Hogosha VHF placeholder. Pretty much the only place I could see this going, it doesn't fit BD's aesthetic, Rogue, or GC.
I for one think it would be quite hilarious if say, GC were to try to cooperate with Rogues to build a VHF for both factions, GC provide some stolen designs, and Rogues come out with a monstrosity of a ship, given unnecessary piece of metal "for extra armour, of course" and is in general a bastardization of Kusari design ala the style of the Rogues.
Relatively significant amount of pointy bits pointing outwards (antennae?) with such big and roundy cockpit glasses gives off the vibe of an insect for me.
I like it. It feels like a Liberty grown version of the Greyhound that's just welded together in a drunken frenzy. I can see why people are getting Kusari vibes from it, but I think that can be attributed to a lack of textures at the moment. The design feels like it fits in the region and it definitely gives off the reckless rogue vibe, looking forward to seeing it develop.
Ain't a Kusari ship and I can absolutely see this becoming a Rogue thing if it's finished. Discovery has a bad problem with looking only at the silhouette of a ship and determining whether it's 'good' or 'bad' and where it fits into the universe because of that. The only Kusari thing about this model besides its silhouette is the cockpit, which has its own set of problems beyond simply not fitting the Rogue line. The biggest issue with this entire mesh is that the cockpit is absolutely gargantuan when compared with the rest of the hull, making this ship appear to be an LF at best, and an escape pod at worst.
I for one would like to see @Swallow continue his work on this thing, if only just to see where it leads, without boxing it into a corner (Kusari), where to the trained eye it does not belong.
I'm not sold yet, but can we get a look at this with the textures? I feel as it it would put a whole different dynamic on how the lazy eye sees a shape with a disrupted pattern on it like most Rogue ship colours seem.
