From: Insp. Steven Anderson, Liberty Police, Inc.
Subject: Security Protocols
I have to inform you that your installation has created major obstacles for the law enforcement.
Yesterday evening, a group of criminals, while under pursuit by the Liberty Law Enforcement Forces, used your installation as a shelter, and, apparently, managed to hack into your security systems. As a result, 2 friendly ships were put out of action and a third one was severely damaged by your "defense" platforms. Needless to say, criminals managed to escape.
Please, update your security protocols.
I cincerely hope for your cooperation.
Atm were investigating situation. Our technician and security officer are now reviewing system logs.
Our station running security protocols, that were developed with assistance with Liberty Police, Inc.
If we look what is defined a criminal by The Laws of Liberty section one, point VII, then its almost impossible,
that someone from them was able to dock at all at our station. Then we checked Liberty Criminal Database
and Liberty Bounty Board, and were unable to find any records about shipsigns: Rusty.Old.Screw and CV-2400.
About our security systems.. they are seperated and working independently from systems that secures station
docking module. So only 2 people on station hawe access to security room- me and my security officer.
All i can say for now: yes, maybe someone docked to our station, but for sure that they were
not criminals.. Maybe they were some freelancers who did some crime.... that we dont know.. for now.
What could trigger defense platforms... I hawe in mind only one reason- if someone shooted accidentally to them or base..
And.. there is even one more strange thing... Were looked in LPI recruitment lo and were unable find any record about Insp. Steven Anderson.
Tomorrow i think well finish to check automated system logs...
If you hawe any valuable information or something that would help us, please post here...
I am sorry to disappoint you, but the criminal database you are refering to is out of date.
Indeed, the criminals I was refering to do not belong to any major criminal organization.
They are, however, guilty of smuggling and assaulting Liberty Law Enforcement ships.
While under fire from the Law Enforcement, at least one of them has managed to use your station as a cover to engage cruise engines.
If, according to you, your station security protocols imply attacking even law enforcement ships that happen to miss a shot, we have a problem.
Because, taking into account the specifics (high speed, high damage, short range) of your defences, area around your installation is a death trap for pilots and captains trying to rid Liberty of criminal scum.
If my words aren't convincing enough, you can take a trip to Manhatten's orbit and see the problem with your own eyes.
I will gladly accompany you to point out specific flaws and, hopefully, save you from any doubts regarding my identity.
