You work quick.

Since you've been a model patriot thus far and haven't once even tried to be so much as insulting or snide, I'll do you the favor of giving you a full run-down on just why the average Xeno is itching to kick the Legion in the marbles.

Bering's always been a mess. The last year or so just made it colossal. The Legion moved in with the big guns, maybe they figured the Unioners were being too bold, or maybe it was insurance in the event that the real prize turned sour instead of compliant. We dug in alongside them, focused on the Separatists and their strange bedfellows in the Unioners. But what did the Legion do? They brokered a peace with the very same Separatists, called it a day, packed their bags and went home.

We weren't even a passing mention. Now the rebels by themselves weren't a big deal, but they had surprisingly deep pockets. Had the best mercenaries on their payroll and a helluva' lot of cannon-fodder to boot. You can imagine just how bad that must've hurt. And while I may have a way with words, there's no dousing the sort of fire that comes with premeditated vengeance. Harder you hold it back, stronger it gets.

Turn your gaze over to Vespucci and you've got big-shot companies like the D.S.E moving in to prospect whatever mineral wealth the system might hold, maybe expectation was the real enemy, but the more naive of us that tried to settle down under the Commonwealth were fixing to be the ones doing that exploitation. Instead, you've got a bunch of executives that crap all over us back on Pittsburgh moving in to set up shop. Then came the loose immigration policies.. and suddenly things don't feel so different from how they were back at Home. The real Home that is.

So if you're wondering just what exactly's driven us to being so spiteful of the flaming skull, it's the fact that they used us just like the Republic did all those years ago, knowing full well the history behind all the scars we carry. You'd think that would serve as a cautionary tale, that if the strongest House in Sirius couldn't break us over the centuries that we've been fighting - then what chance do they stand in the wake of all this hate?
