Im sure im jumping into a black hole head-on with this thread, but im starting to touch what is probably the tip of the iceberg with the issues of the game. But i still dont know, so, surprise me. Or correct me.
TL;DR: The progression on this game is grindy, boring, and fun robbing. It needs to change.
After a week of trying again the game, after years, i notice now one of the main problems that made me leave in the first place (apart from some serious life issues after being mistreated by my father, but thats not the point).
The progression form on this game SUCKS, which it all depends on credits, which we can only obtain currently by 2 ways:
-NPC missions: Slow, good practice for beginners, but unrewarding.
-Trading/Smuggling OR Mining then transporting: Some routes take a godamn huge ammount of time, some there is barely any risk involved, others are just tiring to get through because of how plagued they are by pirates, you pay them, and move on to the next sector to find more pirates. And now instead of pirates, you get the freaking vagrants. Why are they still nomads a playable faction? (I know im gonna set on fire a hive here and i do it on purpose) At least the Wild make more godamn sense.
I tried to do piracy once, but im too kind to annoy another players progress. So i stuck to killing npc trains, which they barely had any good loot. (Oxygen, they carried oxygen.) I only saw ONCE an npc that was carrying the Ageira white boxes (which are paid 25k on crete), and damn i wish i could have raided it.
As a game, discovery seems to have the same issues fallout 76 did (except bugs, thankfully), players dont create the content.
There has to be content that brings players to forcefully encounter eachother in a much more inmersive way.
For example, the Ageira heavy transport that carries the white boxes, make them MUCH more common on the colorado system, which they are heavily guarded by npcs, and you will need an organized group of players to pull a heist.
And, i dont know the limits on the game the developers can work on, but if they could be made into an automated scripted event, where it gets warned to the whole server that the train is under attack (like bases) by a certain player, and then everyone will want a piece of the prize, or police will chase them down. It would be amazing.
At this point its just suggestions, but i dont know surely what can give more inmersion and activity to the game. I really, really want to get into the game.
You can also mine scidata for money. Takes a bunch to get in, but you can make money decently if you pick the right spot/ID combination and have buyers lined up
also don't mention stealing ageira white boxes, you'll wake him
I think there is a severe lack of a solid gameplay loop in the mod especially in regards to the new player experience. A lot of the time you'll feel like you're doing the same thing, in a really monotonous and unfulfilling way.

Opens up white box and John White bursts out of the seams in a liquid state. He slowly slinks across the room and uses the leg of a table to essentially solidify himself into disgruntled Gerard Butler.
"YOU TRIGGERED MY TRAP-CARD!" White screams at the pitiful thief who stole his proprietary product. He then proceeds to puke out a nuclear bomb which appears to be a on a count-down to self destruct. You see that it's already reached the number one by the time White has turned into a solid object. I guess you'll just die now.
EDIT: Skorak here. RIP. Now it happened to me too.

Mining and missions can be fun. I had great fun farming nomads in Delta for the first 400 missions. But at it's core FL has always had really crap ways to earn cash. Wreck hunting was fun, but now everyone just waits for the server restart and grabs the good stuff as soon as possible.
Other than that I'm sure most people who've been playing for a long time they're sitting on stacks of cash and don't notice how boring catch-up grinds can be
