Taking into the account @Chuba's little proposal and my addition to it, I would like to raise a discussion of the idea with further dev request.

The jump drive could be used for anyone but traders (y' all know how they like to run from piracy and other interaction by all possible ways) and be good money sink in means of its price and ammo's price as well.
My proposal is JD1 for snubs/gunboats with a very limited range of ~5 systems and fuel consumption of ~900 units for a single jump with the charge of one minute.
Range limit is unnecessary, but restrict it to bombers and below.
(SHFs obviously excluded since they appear to be the root of all evils in the initial discussion.)

I propose the opposite, remove all restrictions on jumpdrives, put it back to .86 form. The Jumping Zoners alone stirred more interactions than Jumpdrives in their current form

I vote for it too. Imagine, Game without long waiting to fly empty systems? Sweet.
Trading without long alone flying, but in swift groups together through mass jumps.
This should be made into voting and then into player requests.
When I ended Vanilla Freelancer, my wish was exactly that. To have something besides jump holes/gates to move around for one hour to reach point B from point A.
