My advice to OP: Get more positive in rallying people
And think about logistics and specifics
- Setting up discord, how the group should work etc.
Maybe even make a general defence thread for countering declarations

Of course, build your mining and trading POB in some backwater-system without any mining field or far away from any trade routes, best be hidden in a nebula 50k above the plane. Makes sense. Yeah, and notify all criminal elements in the area preemptively of the existence of said base, because the government will surely not coming down on your base if it turns out to be a docking space for unlawfuls. What did you use to rub your brain with? Certainly not just cerebrospinal fluid. Liquor has two meanings in English, I presume.

Then if POBs are such a burden for you, don't build one. You sure as hell don't need to build your own when you can have your needs served by ones that already exist, with the added benefit of not having to worry so much about placement and sieges.
Leave the burden for people that can shoulder it. Nothing says you must interact with this.
