Chris walked alongside her, paying close attention to her concern and smiling lightly as she kept on talking. The fact that the Captain didn't mention anything about his answer meant that this time he did a good job properly explaining and not leaving out anything, visibly feeling cheerful as his highest priority goal is to earn the Fifth's trust - after all the main reason he took the decision of transferring the Akhetaten to the Fifth fleet was the lack of trust shown by the First fleet. He takes a few moments, letting the Captain finish her question before giving her a reply, smiling slightly.
"Before I go to answering these well placed questions I need to point out that my cooperation with the Security Force and the First fleet were necessary steps that needed to be taken towards the Akhetaten's refit. The First fleet helped on the weaponry and most equipment side of things while the Security Force helped with the cloaking device and reactor side. As you are aware, Captain, I did contact the Fifth fleet too during that time, the fact that I ended up leaving the more 'complicated' matters to the Security Force and the First was pretty much just out of sheer chance. There was nothing specific pulling me towards their way."
"Anyway, back to you. Lets get the fast and easy one out of the way first - the Akhetaten would have no reason to join the Security Force, it may be a Naval vessel with the capability of intelligence gathering as we discussed just earlier but her primary purpose is not that of intel gathering. With that in mind, as I told you earlier I've held discussions with my crew multiple times about the Akhetaten's transference to a primary fleet and there were a couple of things effecting our opinion here. Namely the lack of trust displayed by the First fleet. The Akhetaten was restricted to an operational zone narrower than any other Naval vessel, with the excuse of trust issues due to past events with similar vessels. Needless to say, after all those finals months the Akhetaten was still not granted any extra clearances - a fact that lowered mine and the crew's appreciation."
"Other than that, which played the biggest role, I've had a number of interactions with members of Fifth's Admiralty that you must have been debriefed on, mainly the Fleet's Rear Admiral, Miss Prower, indicating that the Fifth knows what they're doing - something which I only confirm today." Christopher did not hesitate to let the Captain know of the truth, there was no point in hiding it after all. Feeling confident about his response, he nodded to the Captain, showing her that this would conclude his answer and gave her a few seconds for the usual check-ups to be done before she would probably proceed to the next questions.
She listened to his explanation, deeming it acceptable and as such did not have any further questions. "It seems that you've answered everything the Admiralty has requested of you. I've been communicating with Fleet Admiral Cleveland during this interview. With the concerns addressed and answers recorded, I'm pleased to inform you the 5th Fleet will accept your transfer. We'll prepare everything needed to make the transition smooth for you. Once everything is in order, you will receive your new station orders. Do you have any questions for me, Captain?"
She seemed satisfied with his answers, as was the fleet admiralty. She simply awaited his answer before she would return to her office to approve the final proceedings with transferring the vessel into the 5th Fleet.
Christopher nodded as if to thank the Captain for taking this time and being his contact with the Admiralty, smiling. He was cheerful that the Fifth Fleet accepted his and the Akhetaten's transfer and he had answered to all of their concerns. "Thank you, Captain, I greatly appreciate the effort you put into today. I'll look into that the crew is updated on the acceptance of the transfer. Nothing else to ask on my side, Captain Fox, it was a pleasure to have met you and cooperated with you."
He raised his right hand for a handshake before she would leave and he'd have to let the crew know of the good news.
She smiled, shaking his hand before keeping firm hold of her datapad, preparing to make the walk back to her office at the other end of the shipyard. "A pleasure to meet you as well, Captain. I'll get back to my office and within the day a team will arrive to assist in registering the ship within our databases, and swapping of identification. If you require anything in the mean time, reach out to the admiralty."
Mira began to take her leave of the vessel, returning to her office and approving the vessels transfer with the blessing of the Fleet Admiral, beginning her full report to input into the transfer records.
