Outcasts in Lorraine - what are they?
Jaques Dantes
Many a Gaul is perplexed as to whom or what exactly are the Outcasts. Ever since contact with Sirius has been opened by the Maquis, Corse and Council triumvirate, rumors of their strange vessels trying to gain foothold in Gallia have begun spreading. We have the latest scoop! The Outcasts are deranged drug addicts that dared to assault the heroic Maquis and Council scouts back when they selflessly ruptured the minefield in Lorraine and begun their mission of peace and warning Sirius of the upcoming Royalist invasion. They also seem to be somehow connected to a drug that seems to be the trend across several Gallic worlds - Cardamine. It's effects are as of yet not long term tested, but the drug seems to be extremely addictive.
So far the Outcasts have largely failed to gain any sort of foothold in the house, repelled by pretty much all factions besides several venturing Brigand profiteers. The Unione Corse heroes and patriots most notably fight against the Outcast drug spreading with extreme dedication. Due to this the Outcasts never dared to enter Gallia with any sort of larger force. Until now.
Lorraine is the first system where they dare to make their stand, often engaged in fierce stand offs between them the Gallic Union Forces, Maquis and their main rivals the Unione Corse, all so they gain a foothold in the house and make space for their growing cardamine empire. Pundits speculate that it will be precisely during the dates of the oddly publicly telegraphed "Lorraine Uprising", a culmination of tensions in the Lorraine system when they will try to secure their position in Gallia once and for all.
Our safety correspondent, Jeane Lampard, informed the LGNS that Gallic peoples should treat any Outcast they run across with extreme caution, for they are very aggressive pilots, pirates and drug dealers and call on and inform the remaining heroes that have the common peoples' interests truly at heart - most notably the Unione Corse and the Maquisards.
