So what happened to all the other servers in the game? All that is left now is the main RP server. Earlier there was a big list of servers around the world, some of which were not compatible with the current build but I did join a couple of different servers, one in Russia and another in the UK. Now they have all gone. COVID or something else?
I have searched but I have not found anything recent and the wiki has all dead links for other servers.
It couldn't of been that long ago because I remember seeing and using other servers up until COVID. I had a conversation with someone on the UK server. I am fairly sure they were all present until sometime this year but I do not know when they disappeared.
Were they intentionally removed or have the servers just disappeared/gone offline?
I think you are referring to the fact that you cant see any other servers on the list as well? There is a block that has been put in place for the disco mod that only allows you to see the main server so that there is no confusion between servers. partly for newer players too i suppose

I don't think that I did anything before to see them so why has that changed? I did do a windows system repair but that shouldn't really change any installed software although it did mess up a number of things including some important windows updates. Currently I have the following in the forced arguments and nothing in the optional arguments but I am fairly certain that I never altered that when the servers were showing. It's been well over 18 months, two years since I set it up and I cannot remember making any changes to those arguments. All that I know is that a fairly big list of servers, around 20+ are missing. Does what is below look correct?

Does anyone know what will get them back or where I could find them?

'I would like to be half as clever as some people like to believe they are' Life is full of disappointments, it is how we handle them that helps to define us, as a person
Thanks, after some messing around I have worked it out and a big list of servers are now showing. Unfortunately for some reason I cannot connect to the Russian server which I did very briefly play on long ago and did make an account which does show when the username selection shows. After that it cannot connect. That will take some more investigation when I have more time. It is nice to have a full list of servers showing which version(s) they are using. It is necessary to put the files from your 2nd link in the Discovery exe folder rather than the Freelancer folder. I have also put them in the Freelancer folder so I can now see all the servers in Freelancer for servers still running v1.0.

I have only been playing Discovery after that time so I must added the files that I mentioned just above which must of permitted me to see the servers when I was playing in the last 2 years. However for some reason something must of happened to them or the settings files, maybe one of the many updates modified them and removed the required lines from the ini file. All fixed now
I do not support the decision made to remove other servers, it just reduces the people who play Freelancer Discovery because people can chose which suits them best. I am not a fan of Role Play in any of it's many forms , I find it tedious and unwanted TBH.
BTW Thank you everyone who contributed and helped me getting it working again.
BTW2 I have updated the Discovery launcher to v2.2.3 after running the 2.1.3 version since I started. Unfortunately it does not allow me to go back to 2.1.3 because it says that the launcher config file is corrupt. If I had know beforehand I would of backed it up.

I am having problems accessing the server. I cannot connect to the server because when I try it disconnects instantly. It is the same for the Russian server, the only server that I have successfully connected to for testing purposes is a UK Freelancer server when running Freelancer v1.0. That stays connected for as long as I tested it. There is no one on that server.
The question is why am I have these problems? I did in August change my ISP and did not have problems before my ISP change. Are there any tests that I can run to determine why I cannot connect?
I thought that it might be best to continue this thread in case it is relevant to the current problems.
