Esteemed Zoner delegates,
We are deeply concerned about the recent transmission relayed over the channel initiated by OSI representatives. Bretonia wishes to maintain peace and stability in the Nottingham system, and, through direct means, ensure that the Zoner community is safe and able to continue commerce with House Bretonia and House Rheinland.
For this very purpose, we have initially taken a stance that aimed to remove a potentially dangerous new claimant to the bases situated in the Freeport's vicinity, whom we have extended strong diplomatic objections to. However, after careful considerations and assurances that the Tau Enterprises do not hold interest over allying with foreign threats, we have changed our stance and recognized the claims as entirely valid and in accordance with international laws, as Mr. Hudson has specified.
We highly urge you to respect our firm desire to assist the Zoner community in recovering these abandoned installations, and we guarantee that all Zoner pilots in the region will be able to remain at Freeport 1 safely, knowing that they are protected against any and all dangers to their safety. In addition, we wish to inform you that the accusations of "law-breaking" are untrue and not in relation with the present Charter of Interstellar Laws, as they only apply in Bretonia Proper, as the document entails. Further, we have not stated any desire to directly recover the bases utilizing vessels or personnel operating under Bretonian identification. Instead, we have only recognized Mr. Hudson's claims to the ownership, that, once again, we strongly urge you to remember and consider as valid for the safe continuation of activity within the Nottingham system.
We are open to any further negotiations or to discussing potential concerns.
Nathaniel Ward
Deputy Chief of Defence Staff
Ministry of Defence
Kingdom of Bretonia
Thank you for your message. I am told this matter has the utmost attention of the OSI board of directors and as such the board is currently in a meeting. I will convey your message as soon as the moment for this arrises. Please allow the board to discuss and deliberate on the matters at hand.
We will contact you shortly and/or an official reply will follow soon.
Sincerely,
Mary Ellis-Dwight - Board assistant - Omicron Supply Industries
Thank you for your communication with OSI. I am aware it has taken some time for us at OSI to reply. The main reason is that the messages of the Ministry of Defence, mainly the complete change of stance towards the matter within two hours, were a cause of concern. Especially when we think back of our mutual history, which to this day, still remains a wound healing slowly.
Your concerns are shared yet rest assured that the warning issued was a preliminary one and to protect travelers from harm should they decide to visit the Omega Palace or Omega Station in the Freeport-1 (FP1) No-Fire-Zone (NFZ). What the message from the Freeport-1 administration did not say was that their engineers are monitoring the forementioned station at all times. The FP1 administration has been notified of this by us.
Now on to some more pressing and current matters. While you stated that (and I quote) "...the Kingdom of Bretonia holds sole authority over the system and its installations. We do not recognize the authority of the Freeport 1 administrators over the nearby installations, and we further advise it to follow our judgement on the matter..." is not in line with the Treaty of Snowdown and especially article 2.2.3. A treaty still valid today which have mutually signed. Furthermore, the administration of FP1 is fully capable of handling any attempts (your words) "...to unlawfully board and capture the stations..." as well as that we are capable of enforcing the NFZ. It is for this very reason the FP1 administration issued it's public broadcasts.
In your message to us you also state that it is your: "...firm desire to assist the Zoner community in recovering these abandoned installations..." yet you are actively supporting the claim of a Freelancer corporation. Admirable as that is, Tau Enterprises have not identified themselves as Zoner's and as such we believe you are in fact helping a third party to lay claim to Zoner assets. Should your administration really and truthfully be keen to assist Zoners, it would in fact enforce that OSI take control of these said installations instead. Yet such stance has not been seen from your part.
With this response I would like to keep the dialogue opened as it is our desire to remain on good terms with both the Bretonian government as well as to assure the Independence and stability of Freeport-1 and all those who enter it's NFZ.

Esteemed Zoner delegates,
We thank you for the reply. Rest firmly assured that we only desire peace and stability in the Nottingham system, and we do not wish to break any prior treaties. We stand together with the OSI in this matter.
However, several matters remain to be negotiated. Firstly, we believe that the first step towards addressing the issue of the damaged bases around Freeport 1 is to recognize the ownership of Tau Enterprises due to their courageous act of establishing contact with the remaining crews and bringing supplies to the installations so that they may be repaired as soon as possible. Mr. Jonas Hudson is a highly trustworthy and capable person and we believe that administration by him of the bases will pose no danger to Zoners. Further, cooperation with Tau Enterprises should be established to prevent any incidents and to guarantee the security of Zoner personnel.
Secondly, the issue of administration. While we highly desire to continue cooperation with Freeport 1 and OSI, due to the nature of the situation, we firmly believe the Kingdom of Bretonia can act as a mediator in resolving this precedent peacefully and through a diplomatic channel. In times of emergency, and as per article 1 of the Freeport 1 Collective Security Agreement, the Kingdom of Bretonia reserves the right to intervene and mediate such incidents so that they may be resolved at a rapid pace. Once again, we highly advise OSI to recognize Tau Enterprises' legal claim to the ownership of the installations due to the nature of their operations.
Thirdly, we wish to discuss Tau Enterprises' stance towards the Zoners and towards other organizations in the Omegas. They remain an important supporter of freedom and Mr. Jonas Hudson himself has expressed a desire to work with the Freeport 1 administration to solve this dangerous situation at earliest. Moreover, Mr. Hudson has clearly stated that he does not wish to break any laws, but merely help alleviate the present issues faced by the remaining Zoner communities aboard Omega Palace and Omega Station. We have recognized his claim to the ownership at large due to this very reason, as we believe that actions matter more than words in establishing a working relationship between the Kingdom of Bretonia and the Zoner OSI.
We hope to hear back upon your thoughts on our requests. Have a pleasant day.

While I appreciate the willingness of the kingdom of Bretonia to act as a mediator, the administration has already sent Mr. Hudson a message regarding this very situation. The contents of which I will not share but I let Mr. Hudson decide whether to share this with you.
Further communication regarding this matter shall be handled by the Freeport 1 administration. Should you have any more questions regarding this then please contact the Freeport 1 administrator, Mr. Kris Tofferson. He has full authority to handle all matters concerning the Freeport and stations located in its No-Fire-Zone. Having said that, do know my door is always open Mr. Ward and I'm sure Kris' door is open as well.
