Bretonia has sufficient power left in the form of a large military (represented by the fact it has the same amount of battleships as the rest) and is using diplomacy as a means to gain more.

Houses fighting for resources and to make sure their counterpart remains weak has been the theme of the game since vanilla, and there's little reason to change it.

Second to that, the story team has also chosen a path of following exactly this kind of roleplay just as much, which I've used to justify why we need to cooperate with them rather than go against what they say

The problem with these systems is that no matter how much you try to smudge all over that they're "nice" and "epic" for both sides of the argument, there remains the risk that your work will just fall on deaf ears and nobody will follow through with your roleplay. This isn't bad per se, but it is exhausting and largely the reason why other Houses haven't touched such regions after the law changes (case in point Snak3 commenting on how making things "more complex" is bad). Besides, the remaining parts of the playerbase and dev team to an extent oppose House expansion, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense given that if done properly, House interest conflicts could spur easy activity. It is what it is.

The DSE conflict doesn't have any chances of becoming an issue between Bretonia and Liberty because the bases didn't comply with Bretonian law first and foremost after they failed to respond in a timely manner. As for a direct conflict, that too is out of the question, but since both CR, Br, and Lib are working over updating the Curacao treaty, I will try to at least put in articles vague enough so that border skirmishes are possible should the situation deteriorate that much.

Lawful ID cannot uphold laws in non-house space, so noone is touching it because not everyone is control freak. You are going the complete opposite way, proxy players that can play governors in systems that BretGov has no power over, except shoot hostiles.

Yes, Snak3, we go the opposite way because we propose benefits in return for letting us govern over the systems. It's a fair exchange and one that doesn't hurt anyone. Plus, the already-mentioned fact that they're characters that can be easily talked to by anyone else already is a big plus from the rigid structure you'd see from the government departments.

If it doesn't work, then the system we created will just as fast be removed and we'll return to the status quo.

That is an easy way to have us rebuild them. Abandoned bases will decay on their own, so there is no need to siege them.

Nobody in their right mind will do business or RP with Bret Gov under it's current administration after legal and licensed bases were put to the torch and then laws retconned overnight.

Bang on the button. Darius has no real idea how much of a power trip he is on. The whole farce regarding the destruction of Old Trafford and Planet Leeds S&R is entirely evident.

Now he is in denial about the meta-gaming that was done. He is full of bulls****. He has presented no evidence to support the "official" lie that the POB's were decaying even after repeated requests for that evidence. He holds stoically to the claim it was "legal" because a "post" was placed as his only defence. Ignores the truth and pushes on with the bleating mantra "It was legal, it was legal! And I changed the law to retrofit my claim to hide my cock-up".

Please depart from our feedback thread with Old Trafford and Planet Leeds S&R complaints. We went through that plenty of times and we aren't reiterating what has been stated oh-so-many times already.

People are pissed off by what you did Darius. It was illegal according to Bretonian law and you are simply in denial that you cocked this up. You are not trustworthy because you changed the law to cover your arse. And why are you unwilling to provide proof of your claims that these PoB's were not being repaired even inRP? They were, and even if not there was no legal right in Bretonian law to destroy them,

In 24 hours from now, should the owners owning the following bases not supply them (they probably won't), we are moving to siege:
- Salisbury Town, New London, near Southampton
- Old Trafford, Manchester, near Birmingham Station
- Planet Leeds Search and Rescue, Planet Leeds orbit

What baffles me is that you should've known who the owners were because DSE informed Bretonia just two months earlier. All you had to do is give a heads-up PM.

Like the only legitimate complaint is that Darius hasn't gotten rid of more pobs in Bretonia, lord knows the house needs less of them.
