HEROES ARE IMMORTAL Navy vs Insurgency, sign-up Capital Ship/Bomber Community event
Vespucci, Saturday 6th may 17:00 UTC
What started SIXTEEN YEARS AGO with the Hellfire Legion, was followed SIX YEARS AGO with the Battlegroup Harmony and the Separatists seems to be slowly coming to an end.
The Legion and Harmony haven't always seen eye to eye. Hellfire Legion was under the control of the powerful breakaway state the Commonwealth of Liberty, and were much less known to work with criminal forces opportunistically. The groups sort of co-existed, both trying to change Liberty in different ways, with different allies. This all changed during the Scouring of Bering. Liberty's High Congress and leadership said "Enough is enough." A decisively brutal attack was launched against the Bering system and Battlegroup Harmony, led by the Battlegroup Concord and backed up by LSF's Lehigh. Marshall station was obliterated and Freeport 2's inhabitants mercilessly wiped out. This was the first time when the Hellfire Legion and the Separatists united. The Legion turned on their own Government and abolished the Commonwealth. Their retaliatory operation, the Cracking of Willard was the beginning of The Insurgency .
For the longest time, it seemed that the Insurgency has stabilized. They joined forces, began to rebuild Marshall Station in Vespucci, and were counting on Liberty's leadership not being insane enough to actually try to attack their deeply entrenched positions that are hard to reach. They were wrong. Terribly wrong. Liberty's High Congress passed the Organization Categorization Revision Act (O.C.R.A.), marking Insurgency as a foreign-aided terrorist organization, a thinly veiled excuse for giving almost unlimited power and budget to Liberty Navy's Hawk-ish admirals. They persuaded the Bretonian Armed Forces to attack Vespucci, without giving them any support. They just needed the distraction to assault Kansas and take down all of Insurgency's defenses at great losses.
Insurgency went into a panic - Liberty's all-in brutal attitude, even using their allies as bait gave everyone strong flashbacks of Bering. This time, however, there was nowhere to run, nowhere to regroup in, this is the last Bastion of the Insurgency, and all of its people were on Veracruz. They have seen some victories along the way, Liberty Navy suffered heavy losses, but they have constant reinforcements with their near-unlimited budget and human resources designed to be able to stand up to two Sirian Houses at once. Refugees and casualties started leaving, the Insurgency Navy was ready to defend Veracruz.
They have achieved one Victory - The Delaware battlegroup was taken down. It took the Insurgency everything it had in reserve to stop the unhinged admiral Dylan Brandt. They have succeeded, but they have seen what Liberty is capable of, and most of them knew Ohio would finish what Brandt has started. A mass exodus began. Battleship Harmony completely defected to the Xenos, and an entire fleet of defenders headed to the Omicrons to seek a new beginning for themselves. Crayter, Gallia, Bretonia, Planet Erie were the destinations of the fleeing Insurgent populace. It seemed like it was over.
Heroes take a stand
Not everyone has given up, however. The deep core of the 16-year-long legacy of the Hellfire Legion never cared about the odds. Despite the battleship Harmony itself abandoning them, neither did many battlegroup Harmony survivors. These are all battle-hardened veterans, some might say zealots who will never forget the events of Bering, who decided to fight for their cause to their last breath, and either win on the battlefield or forever live as part of history. Heroes are immortal.
THE EVENT
Vespucci, Saturday 6th may 17:00 UTC
To avoid the Battlezone Liberty Navy will gather around planet Iridescencia while Insurgency gathers at Marshall Station, they meet in the middle
SIGNUP SYSTEM
INSURGENCY signs up with their ships (ship name+Ship Class). They will be automatically signed up. A Corresponding Liberty Navy spot of the same class then opens up. If you see an INS signup for a class, you can do the same on the Navy side. We are not sure how many insurgents can come so they get this advantage.
Open to: Liberty Navy, Insurgency IDed ships of bomber, gunboat, and bigger classes. No restocking, running, or interference of 3rd parties besides camera ships. If small amounts of ships (3 and lower on each side) sign up we might do a time-skip/respawn after round one.
We ask Liberty Navy ships to signup only AFTER Insurgency players declared their ship class and MATCH them. i.e. Insurgency player says INS-Hero cruiser, then Navy can signup with one cruiser class.
We are just not sure how many Insurgents can come and what ships they still have, this system is to accommodate them.
Slots Updated! Insurgency can keep signing up with any class of bomber, gunboat or bigger and will get in Liberty Navy has one Heavy Battleship slot open, rest has to wait for Insurgency's signups which will open up more slots on lawful side.
