Triggering and Controlling Jump Holes in the Vicinity to Gravitational Anomalies:
A Novel View on FTL Technology

1. Abstract

This article covers the recent observation of gravitational phenomena commonly known as "jump holes" and theorises about the alternative to Ageira jump gates' technological means of controlling them. The argumentation is based on continuous empirical observations carried out in four systems in the Taus, Omicrons, and Omegas, and close to the borders of the House of Liberty. The empirical part of the research consists of three parts: data collection with the help of a custom-made for the purposes of research oscillator, modulation of the gravitational anomalies using a Koifman-Nakamura quantum field generator, and deployment of a gravitational-magnetic "trap". The results indicate that in places of gravitational anomalies that are already showing signs of arbitrarily altering energy density the suggested technological solutions can be used to manipulate the energy density further to create a jump hole, and subsequently stabilise it by using a gravitational-magnetic "trap". While carried out so far on a small scale, the authors believe the findings can be of help to the academic community and industry of Kusari in developing Kusari jump gate alternative.

2. Introduction

The possibility of faster-than-light (hereinafter FTL) has been theorised since the time of the War in Sol. At that time, however, humanity decided to apply its ingenuity to mutual destruction, resulting in the exodus to the Sirius sector. The sleeper ships did not use FTL technology but travelled at almost relativistic speeds. This allowed them to reach such a remote destination in a relatively quick for space term of a few hundred years. This methodology of space travelling was perfected during the early days of Houses' expansion from their capitals to the nearby systems. The colonisation of New Tokyo and Honshu are only 51 years apart which is even more impressive given the state and scale of the facilities of the first settlers. As the pioneers were reaching even further systems, the existing subluminal means of travelling became less optimal and more hazardous due to continuous exposure to space radiation, weightlessness, negative psychological effects of continuous life in space, as well as the limited amount of cargo transported aboard. The advances of the Ageira Corporation changed everything. Since the first jump gate between New York and Colorado systems opened in 189 A.S., Ageira and the House of Liberty have been dominating the market of jump gate technology, protecting their know-how. Despite this, by that time it became common knowledge among space explorers that natural gravitational anomalies, which allow a similar FTL travel, exist. Countless expeditions, particularly of the House of Rheinland, mapped many of such anomalies. Some of the anomalies were temporal in nature, the others persisted over a long period of time. More importantly, however, the destination of these jump holes was unknown and even with the use of probes traversing those remained highly dangerous. One of the most infamous cases is the expedition of Franz Schulman in 440-s A.S. which relied on jump holes and met its end in the deeper Omicrons. It is no wonder that Ageira officially condemned the use of jump holes as "dangerous and irresponsible". Whether out of true care about the space travellers or of commercial interest in preserving its monopoly, Ageira remained the only reliable source of safe FTL travel technology in Sirius for centuries.

The situation changed in 813 with the arrival of the Kingdom of Gallia on the scene. Alongside immense destruction and countless war crimes, the forlorn brothers brought new technologies that were developed in parallel to everything in Sirius. unlike the other Houses, Gallia had to rely only on itself, isolated from any form of academic and commercial exchange of technologies. To the surprise of many, the Gauls had managed to harness FTL travel and Gallia became the second House except for Liberty to achieve the feat. Following the end of the Great War and with the institution of fragile peace in the aftermath, many entities across Sirius have shown interest in the Gallic FTL technology, including the trade lanes. The House of Rheinland, in particular, has allegedly sealed a technology lease agreement with Gallia and started using the Gallic jump gates. This has made Rheinland less dependent on Liberty's monopoly for the first time in centuries and caused political ramifications which are beyond the scope of this article.

The House of Kusari is also still dependent on the technology of Liberty. This contributes to the relations between the Houses yet poses risks of technological colonialism in the long run. In order to reduce these risks as well as to promote the technological development and economic growth of the House of Kusari, the development of a Kusari-made FTL technology is necessary. Having seen the success of Gallia in developing an FTL technology of its own, our team strongly believes in the possibility of success of the academic community of Kusari in this endeavour.

3. Data & Data Collection

The data for the research was collected during 829-830 A.S. in four parts of Sirius: the Taus, the Omegas, the Omicrons, and the independent worlds adjacent to the House of Liberty. The data were collected using a specially constructed at the Engineering Department of the University of Tenmei quantum oscillator. The device was designed to detect oscillations at quantum levels and above, as well as induce such oscillations at the researcher's will. The data collected using the oscillator were not normally distributed due to the nature of quantum observations and Heisenberg's Principle of uncertainty.

The second series of data was carried out using a modified for the purposes of research Kishiro-made Koifman-Nakamura quantum field generator. The device in question is often used to create and modulate quantum fields for quantum telecommunication and quantum multiplexors calibrations. In this research, we used the Koifman-Nakamura generator in tandem with the previously mentioned oscillator to induce quantum oscillations. However, unlike the oscillator, the Koifman-Nakamura generator was primarily used to investigate the effect of second quantisation fields on oscillations and gravitational anomalies in general. This was crucial to understanding the forces engaged in the formation and existence of the phenomena studied.

The data collected were used in a quantitative prediction model under quantum mechanics and under the QED theories of Feynman-Tomonaga. The models were used to predict the fields of the phenomena in line with QED and to use the gravitational-magnetic trap more effectively.

4.1 Analysis: Quantum Oscillations

Quantum oscillations refer to a phenomenon observed in the behaviour of quantum systems subjected to a magnetic field at low temperatures. These oscillations arise due to the quantized nature of electrons in solid material and the effect of a magnetic field on their motion. Quantum oscillations occur when the Fermi level (the highest energy level occupied by electrons at absolute zero temperature) intersects with one or more Landau levels. At low temperatures, only electrons near the Fermi level contribute to the conduction of electricity. As the magnetic field strength or the field orientation with respect to the material is varied, the intersection between the Fermi level and Landau levels changes. Following the Lifshitz-Kosevich formula (below) used to mathematically describe the oscillations, our team proceeded with using the mentioned above custom oscillator to confirm empirically the predicted oscillations in the Schwarzschild radius of the anomalies. While the latter is much smaller than the ones observed in true black holes and wormholes, the mathematical predictions still worked to a certain degree of accuracy and allowed us to predict the oscillations. The caveat is that due to the lack of matter in a vacuum, the use of other materials, in particular exotic, is needed to start the process.

Having observed and recorded the patterns, our team managed to induce the oscillations 78% of the time following the pattern. Such oscillations, however, were singular and did not affect the stability of the quantum field of the anomalies. Due to this, the oscillations were of no impact on the potential manipulation of the field to chain start the collapse needed to create artificial wormholes. Nevertheless, the observations were crucial to the next stage.

4.2 Analysis: Quantum Field Manipulations

Using the data collected in the first stage, the authors developed a theoretical model that would "destabilise" the system with a chain of controlled oscillations to alter the quantum field of the anomalies for prolonged periods of time. Koifman-Nakamura quantum field generator was able to modulate the quantum fluctuations in such a pattern to allow the quantum oscillations to become more predictable and follow the pattern. The modulation was carried out using potent lasers, "squeezing" vacuum and suppressing quantum fluctuation through the phenomenon of quantum interference. The resulting squeezed vacuum demonstrated the traits of negative energy. Subsequently, the quantum field with minimised virtual particle pairs was reinforced with Casimir's macroscale plates and focused in a defined conditionally 2D space, paving the way to the warps of space and time given sufficient energy input to maintain such a warp. The gravitational-magnetic trap used in Stage Three was used for that purpose.

The findings of the second stage analysis provided the team with the empirical estimations of the time and patterns of quantum oscillations, frequency and power of the Koifman-Nakamura field generator's lasers and the size of Casimir's plates needed to start and uphold the quantum oscillations and fluctuations described above. The primary achievement of this stage was the initial modulation of the quantum particles and the field creating negative energy density within a defined space.

4.3 Analysis: Gravitational-Magnetic Entrapment

With the modulation of the quantum field enabling negative energy density, the subsequent technological challenge was to sustain the phenomenon long enough for practical use. Because of the operation on the quantum level, a typical atom-directed magnetic trap could not be effective. In lieu of this, in addition to the magnetic quantisation of the exotic and regular matter used in the process, the effect of strong gravitation is needed to rotate the particle's Killing vector, forcing the breakup of the virtual particles pairs and continuous existence of the conditions of negative energy.

Our models indicated that the most efficient way to sustain the phenomenon of negative energy density is to deploy a circular magnetic trap creating a stable electromagnetic field of the same shape around the gravitational anomaly and deploying Casimir's macroscale plates perpendicularly to the trap so that the resulting "flat" circular space within the magnetic trap is the designated space for the quantum oscillations triggering the concentration of the virtual quantum particle pairs. Then, the Koifman-Nakamura field generator uses lasers to "push" the pairs towards the circle's edge, i.e. to the magnetic traps where the generated quantum fields in conjunction with the magnetically trapped matter hold them closer to the edge. Then, an artificial source of gravity is created in the very centre of the circle to rotate the Killing vector of the virtual quantum pairs so that one of the pair gets drawn in towards the gravitational centre, thus causing negative energy density and, therefore, the warps in space-time.

Such manipulations require a very potent energy source and a sufficient amount of exotic matter. While the latter can be produced artificially elsewhere, an energy source capable of upholding a gravitational pull comparable to a minor black hole is technologically challenging to create. Therefore, it is suggested that existing thermonuclear reactors at our disposal are used in conjunction with the gravitational anomalies in situ to amplify the already existing strong gravitational pull of the anomalies. This way is more feasible technologically but is limited in terms of possible locations of interest.

The results of this stage were mixed: while our team successfully caused the warp in space-time near the anomalies, we failed to stabilise the energy density for a protracted period of time allowing the warp to be used for space travel similarly to a jump gate or a jump hole. Revision of the theoretical background of the experiment revealed no discrepancies. Therefore, it was concluded that the energy source at the disposal of the research team was not sufficient for upkeeping the controlled warp long enough, even on a small scale.

5. Conclusion & Implications

This research endeavoured to find an alternative to the monopoly of Ageira jump gate technology on the market of Kusari. To that end, the authors attempted to establish theoretical grounds for jump holes and tested an experimental technology designed to open and control the jump holes in question on a small scale. Due to the lack of theoretical or empirical information from Ageira Technologies and their Gallic counterparts, this research was carried out independently of the organisations and their technological solutions. Empirical data collected in four different parts of Sirius known for the Baxter anomalies and other gravitational anomalies were used for the models and calculations. Our findings indicate that in certain areas, jump holes can be artificially created and upheld for them to be used to traverse space FTL. While our research does not extrapolate the findings to "regular" space without anomalies, our theoretical grounds indicate that with sufficient energy deployed, conditions similar to the gravitational anomalies can be created using the processes described in the article, mainly relying on the Koifman-Nakamura quantum field generator. This, nevertheless, would require immense amounts of energy that might not be technologically or economically feasible to use at this stage of our technological development. Should the House of Kusari, however, put enough resources and bright minds into it, we can see some progress on Kusari-made FTL technology in a few decades to come, or even sooner if an unforeseen breakthrough in the field of energy generation, storage, and/or transmission is achieved.

Based on our findings, we suggest to the academic community, political establishment, and business circles of Kusari the following:

Immense power for sustaining gravitation for particle's killing vector (to sustain the conditions of negative energy) is needed for the technology to work. Therefore, the cooperation of academia, private and public sectors is needed to coordinate and prioritise the development of energy-generating, storing, and/or transmitting technologies. The House of Kusari alongside the GMG is already the leader in Sirius regarding the extraction and refinement of the H-Fuel. Long-term evolution of the existing technologies in this sector combined with the expertise of Kusari in quantum electronics will be needed to assure sufficient levels of energy generation for the FTL technology of Kusari design.
Hawking's radiation will make the jump hole slowly evaporate and the influx of matter is needed to sustain jump holes. The amount of matter varies depending on its nature. Commonly found elements might be needed in immense amounts to sustain a jump hole. Exotic matter, however, can be required in much smaller amounts. Therefore, in the long run, Kusari will benefit greatly from allocating resources to materials chemistry. It should be noted, however, that with advances in gravitational-magnetic traps, the amount of matter, common or exotic, needed to sustain jump holes might be reduced.
Cooperation of Samura and Kishiro as two leading technological companies of Kusari is essential to steady progress in this project. No internal or inter-company strife should affect the advance, and therefore the role of the Imperial Government as a watchman is crucial to prevent any setbacks possible due to corporate rivalry and market competition.
