Should PVP battles be limited?

This is what really ticks me off.

I fly to Manhattan, killing some pilots (NPCs) off, then an LSF in a fighter comes along and then flees which means he must leave New York. Then suddenly he comes back in a bomber, with like 3 other big capships on me and I have no chance. There were atleast 2 battleships on me.

My idea is that PVP'ing should be limited to how many can acctually fight at a time, because if your in a little fighter and suddenly 10 great big battleships come up to you and start blasting you, how are you ment to win. I'd say like if your just that 1 fighter, and 10 battleships come up, they should choose who PVPs him and let them 1v1 while the others stay. And if the fighter wins, they can either choose to flee or send another battleship in.

Just an idea to limit the capship whoring in PVPs.

Another idea to limit capship whoring is to apply for cruiser and above in the forums and if its denied, don't buy it.

If the guy who fled initially came back on a different LSF character you should be reporting him, that's against the rules, unless you left New York too.

As for limiting pvp numbers, I think it's a rule that would get too confusing should you have a combined force of a bomber, couple of fighters or something. When you start mixing and matching the forces you'd have to work out on the spot how many battleships could engage and that just gets annoying and there's too much room for human error.

Anyway, I'm somewhat proud if I get that many battleships after me, shows I'm doing my job as a pirate right;). They'll never catch me anyway, as I'll hightail it as soon as they're all within scanner range.

should pvp be limited? - nah, i don t think so
switching from a fighter to a batltefleet is unreasonble and by limiting this stuff you don t get anything better but more violation reports. - i don t think its much about the capital ships for that matter as you are mostly invulnerable against a capship when you re flying a fighter. - but of course, you must ask yourself.... when you re a pirate, is manhatten really the best place to hang around? - even NPCs fly raid group patrols there ( battleship, 2 cruisers, 4 fighters ) ... and if these were as dangerous as player controlled ships... would you hang out there, too?

pvp is down to whats necessary - and its up to the player himself to control it. - last time i had a fight against two QCO guys. - the fight lasted like 30 minutes or something, and i got bored cause all that happened was doding around and occasionally hitting each others shields.

i simply retreated ( docked ) and swallowed the 4 hours lockout - cause its simply no fun to pvp like that. - mind, there is no rule to force them or me to do anything and we could have gone on for ages. - pvp is what happens to two sides, not only one. - when i m in a fighter facing a warship patrol, i retreat. - but i don t get angry at them. - why should i ... i m overpowered, and when i retreat, i simply don t enter the system for 4 hours, cause it would put my char into danger of death.

it doesn t need a rule for that. - when i face a greater force that i cannot beat, i run. - thats what makes it interesting. why should the defender suffer / or the attacker - just cause the other side is too weak?

( except for switching from a fighter to a battleship ) - being outnumbered, outgunned is what is part of RP. - pvp is where you try to balance stuff.. RP is where you try NOT to balance battles.

Here's an idea: leave Liberty. Liberty sucks, it's a well known fact. Everywhere else the only thing you will have to stomach is the occasional BHG idiots, but Liberty is just taking the piss.

Hey Blodo, how about actually visiting Liberty sometime? NY is a pit in general but Cali, Texas and Colorado are all fun places to be for the most part, just ask the LR. And NY is getting better.

Yes, I generalise. Either way, Rogues and Xenos are awesome I'll agree with that, but Texas is a ghost town and NY is just annoying. California is only any good thanks to Rogues, and Colorado is mostly quiet until the Xenos roll out. A short summary of Liberty in my opinion.

Abbot, you were in a Lane Hacker Gunboat, with a pirate ID, waltzing around in front of Manhattan.

Of course you'll be attacked by swarms of people...

"leave Liberty. Liberty sucks" - The Perfect Solution to make Liberty a better place. /sarcasm

Liberty won't get any better by complaing about it, and telling people to avoid it. There are factions here aswell as respected indies who are "trying" to make liberty a better place( including the lawful factions, the unlawfuls aren't the only ones trying, blodo). So please stop waving the anti-liberty flag. Liberty may "suck" but its getting better.

And kingabbot, im sorry for the rough time you had, if you have proof of the reengagment, please make a violation report. If not, and if it was a =LSF= tagged character, please send me a private message with the name and a summary of the situation, and i will deal with it.

Liberty will always be the OORP capital as its the "Center of the universe". Other houses generaly have more people who know how to RP(And i don't mean because there not full of new people, there are faction players who don't know RP in Liberty who argue about which one of them is the leader of the LN over open coms etc).

Sniper as much as I admire what you did to the LSF, sorry but whenever I visit New York on my trader (and that's quite a lot, all of my trade routes end in Liberty one way or another), all I see is the constant stream of utter bollocks in system chat and the ridiculous capship buildup aimlessly floating in Manhattan orbit.

You want the lawfuls to get positively recognised? Won't happen if you people stay in NY. It just creates water for my mill if you don't spread out, gives me more of a reason to put it all in the same bag.
