Hail Eris! All Hail Discordia!
Ok, Lads, the pleasantries and secret handshakes over with, I'm asking for some advice. As you've obviously been through the process, hope you can help. I'd ask Igiss, but he gets a might short if he thinks you haven't read the "fine print" to his august satisfaction...
1. I assume a new RP faction must be "registered". Is post to Faction Thread all that is required. (or was there something about a huge entry fee...?)
2. Do I have to have a "roster" before posting a new faction? If so, how many warm bodies do I need?
3. Are the rules for ID tags the same for an RP faction? (True Discordian form would allow all-comers, w/ as many different IDs as possible, just to keep the Mehums ("mere humans") guessin'....)
4. It would be difficult for this new Granfaloon to identify allies/neutrals/hostiles with any degree of certainty from the get-go.. How do I get 'round this...?
5. Thinkin' of limitin' Cabal ship names to famous Discordian Saints/Madmen. ie: Emporer Norton, Lief Erickson, Adam Weishaupt, Malaclypse the Younger, Mordecai the Foul, etc. (still considerin'... too much to expect of applicants?)
If this is considered "off-topic", we could go to P/M.

Yes, good then, we get crawling on the way out of the first bar.. not bad, not bad.
Makes more sense.. just if the police stop us and politely ask to go home, please
don't look at the far away stars, towards the location of old Terra and say "I'm
tryin' baby, I'm tryin'.."
Still remember the last time I did that.. they didn't think it's so funny as I thought...

Hmm, I don't see what's not clear in the faction rules.. but I'll try answering your questions..
Q. I assume a new RP faction must be "registered". Is post to Faction Thread all that is required. (or was there something about a huge entry fee...?)
A. If you want to own a system, yes, needs registering and the huge fee, also, must grt approval from Igiss. On the other hand, we didn't bother with the registration, we are transparent and shady as is the business we are doing.. Also getting a good team of lawyers is advisable in these cases.
Q. Do I have to have a "roster" before posting a new faction? If so, how many warm bodies do I need?
A. Yes. You need 3 different people. Hood and me were not enough for a faction in the beginning, we put the tags on our traders.. then it grew far beyond what we ever expected :) and we like it this way :hehe:
Q. Are the rules for ID tags the same for an RP faction? (True Discordian form would allow all-comers, w/ as many different IDs as possible, just to keep the Mehums ("mere humans") guessin'....)
A. This is a dodgy one. But IMO possible to have different IDs if you don't align with an NPC faction. It's not specified in case of not aligning with NPC factions. It does say that every player must have an ID. On the other hand.. there's the Neutral ID.. so.. better ask Igiss about this.
Q. It would be difficult for this new Granfaloon to identify allies/neutrals/hostiles with any degree of certainty from the get-go.. How do I get 'round this...?
A. Neutral IDs again?
A. You are free to name them as you want.. as long it's not.. 'unacceptable' by common standards.

Whats this I hear about you going one on one with a company ship then ... I will not
tolerate the abuse of IND property again. Lucky you got through it. Years salary would
just cover a loss. On top of the week for being pissed last night. More of this will result
in disciplianary charges. And a new boss. Clear. Planet diving with cargo is also not
recommended.
That is all.

Well old boy, good to hear things will be moving along a pace. Of course [IND] does already
conform to the Erisian edicts ... errr ... Not conforming. Gonna have to read a hell of a lot
more of this stuff to get me head round it. And the quandary I have now ... I'm Prohibited
of believing what I read. Damn me brains fried. Can you pass another toilet roll.
Our Lawyers are incredibly good at Transgressicuting though ... Pay em enough.

Don't forget that you've read that "A Discordian is Prohibited to Believe
what he reads."... It's about ballancing what is believed I figure.
But then again... don't believe me!

I think the Phantoms would be pleased, the Fat T made a Terminal
mistake. The mortar kissers will like the valiant act too, he kissed his
own Torp goodbye.
Btw, it was for the honor of the Independence...

Ah it was the Fat One was it ... I hear that boy is making a lot of enemies round here.
Still ... Topping himself seems very appropriate. Possibly have to keep an eye on the
rest of the low lifes round here then. Can't have the place going to the dogs. He will
have to kiss some ass when his boss gets back. Let alone a torp.
Good to hear some honour still exists. Back to work then.

I want to take this time to welcome a new tag holder to these hallowed ranks here.
Whatever ... Full of it this morning. Hallowed ... Pah. Dodgy as f*ck more like.
Anyway ... Alejandro Escobar is now a fully fledged madman. Make him feel at home,
and share the name of your analyst with him.
Illegitmus non carborundum ... To quote old General Joe. Get the picture.
That is all.
