Research Team, '\S/'Arcturus Research Expedition Report on the Neutron Star within the Omega-41 System
Report was compiled on 16 / 9 / 830AS
I remember quite some time ago I, my team aboard the Arcturus had accumulated quite a few petabytes of Research Data scanning the Anomalies that would frequently be birthed within Omega-11. During my early expeditions there, I would travel towards Cambridge and sell this data to Nebula Shipping Express for quite a sum of credits. I guess this is where I was able to afford the more sophisticated scanning systems on board. In any case, they had requested to have more information obtained from an object deeper within the Omega Border Worlds. Specifically, the Neutron Star within the Omega-41 System. I will have to make sure to take care of my team, losing a single person may mean I will have to hire a specialized person to take over. I only say this considering the lack of shielding on my ship, especially when the subject of this expedition is a Neutron Star. Note, will keep my distance. Our expedition into Omega-41 was most definitely a short one, rivalling our visit into Omicron Lost. Though the reasons for our short time here are much different than within the Omicrons.
The Neutron Star. The first of it's kind that I have had the chance to study. Out of all the solars and objects within Sirius, this may be one of the most dangerous natural entities within space. Nearby the star is located a Freeport numbered 5, the crew of which are already struggling with drop offs of medical related supplies to keep the station running. They had spared what they could for our team to keep us alive during our short visit.
During our four our stationary scanning session, we had only obtained only one piece of detail. If we had stayed longer, we would have learned more, though if we were to come back we'd ask MFE to bring along a medical frigate to accompany us. The major detail we had observed from the Neutron Star is it's consistence pulse of high yield radiation from it's core. Every few seconds, this pulse would expand from it's magnetic center in the form if a sharp flat disk. As it grows in size, the disk slowly loses it's strength and dissipates. The composition of this pulse is something we weren't able to gather, though we can confirm that the make-up of the pulse allows the human eye to see this pulse as a red ring during it's repeated short lifetime. Another such detail is that we were located outside of the ring's visible area, though it seems that the invisible radiation still carries forth after the visible ring disappears, meaning that no matter where you are in the system, these pulses will reach you and eat away at your ship's hull plating.
I had hoped we could record what is within the star itself, how these pulses are generated and released. Though the star's size being akin to a large moon and with these pulses being recorded as extremely deadly when up close, we do not have the capacity to learn what we would like from something as intense as a Neutron Star. In this case I would request assistance from other researchers, bring a small fleet into Omega-41 and combine our resources to obtain everything from this star. At this time, the details recorded about the pulses is all we were able to obtain.
