Expedition: Unknown Planet I, Uncharted 10 System

Research Team, '\S/'Arcturus Research Expedition Report on Unknown Planet I within the Uncharted 10 System Report was compiled on 19 / 12 / 833AS I cannot believe that we have uncharted sectors to analyze and research! Halpert has done quite the job to compile these cartography reports for us. With our recent communication with the Artificial Intelligence unit called Unit-9467F, we have the means of taking on their request to find a barren isolated world with sub-zero temperatures. Reading over Halpert's report, I have located one such candidate for this unit's request. The planet marked as Unknown Planet I within the system known as Uncharted 10. Unsure why it's designation is 10, as we have not recorded any more then three systems within Earhart as of yet. The '\S/'Velorum managed to generate a rift into Earhart where we discovered that the Uncharted system we needed to enter had an opening available for us to use. We took the Arcturus in and travelled to Bravo 5 where we saw the planet in question. Superficial scans of this world meet the criteria of the Unit. We sat in place for quite a few hours, as no one or nothing had the chance to disturb us. The planet itself reached a high of about 10 degrees celsius, during the section of it's orbit closest to the sun. On the far end, it was recorded to be -285 degrees. Much colder than any human could survive in. I am unsure about the conditions needed for this AI species to survive. There is some doubt among my crew that this is sufficient. We will know only when this report is submitted to Unit-9467F. There are pockets of craters scattered upon the surface. Being placed between two ice fields, it is reasonable to assume a handful of ice formations had been dragged into the planet's gravitational field and presumably made contact with the surface rather than having it's orbital pathway stabilize. The impact sites on the surface, at least on the side of the planet facing the sun, matched the shape and size present in the asteroids within these surrounding ice fields. May pose a danger to any being living on the surface. Best to include this rather than not, as it's a potential hazard for anything on the surface. Lastly, as no other ship larger than our "Corvo"-Class vessel can enter this system, we are unable to take an expeditionary team close to the surface for a closer observational analysis. From what we can see, through the clear atmosphere, is that the surface itself is quite unforgiving. Shattered ice shards in combination with mountainous terrain would make any surface expedition impossible. Even if a team could clear an area for surface-based research, they could only last 3 hours before the the team retreats due to the temperature drop.
