Anyway, new PDA, new journal, god knows it cost me enough. Da' almost bit my bloody head off for asking for the tiny bit extra to cover it. Bloody BMM needs to cut that man a break, I swear, or I should probably try and stay out of trouble for a little while, don't know which is a taller order to be honest. Anyway, the story of how the old PDA died well. Lynchie had been talkin' about a session for the last week. Naturally, that meant Becks was up for it, and Kels and Jace were in because of her. And you know how it all went wrong? FUCKING ALEX CHALLENGED BECKS TO A DRINKING COMPETITION. He should have known bloody better. Anyway, that went "well" and resulted in Becks being shitfaced and headbutting some wanker which led to a full-blown brawl breaking out. End result? My PDA got smashed, I think I broke my hand off some cunts head, Kels bit someone's ear off, Jace lost a tooth, Becks' got her arm sliced up, and Lynchie had a few ribs cracked. Oh, and then I woke up in a bed that wasn't mine. Still, the lad I woke up next to didn't look half bad, so I suppose I did well enough for myself, even if I don't remember the rest of that night. I was supposed to study today, but the hangover ended that, I'll figure it out later. Relocated by BMM in the face of the appearance of this new Kingdom of Gallia’s advance out in the Tau's. My guess? One of them had a serious chit to cash in. Hard to see another way they got off the planet, but once again, it seems like I'm the only one who even gives a damn. Jason still doesn't seem to understand how things work; Kel does, but I know she hates thinking about the matter for long. Alex is too focused on trying to shag whatever bird catches his eye at the moment to even pay any heed to me when I talk about anything that’s even vaguely political. Beck's, however. With her, it's a fifty/fifty shot; it ends in a heated argument with her telling me I shouldn't take on the entire universe's problems, or she just goes quiet. I don't know which outcome is the more frustrating of the two, either. I can't tell if it's silent resentment for where she is stuck or if she just gave up on having any form of empathy for anyone other than us, but either way, it concerns me. 'Becks is one of us, and I don't want to see her get caught up in anything too shady; that's the last thing Jason needs, losing his sister to that. It’s also, the last thing this planet needs is another thug only out for themselves, the cost to their fellow human beings being damned along the way. I'm rambling now; I guess I'll leave this entry with the fact that these Gallic's sudden appearance and advance does concern me, probably not as much as it would, if it wasn't for the fact I'm pretty sure that they couldn't be any worse to live under than Carina and her bloody dogs. Then again, war has a history of getting bloody quick, and as the saying goes, sometimes the devil you know... I lied. I guess I'll leave this entry with that. Which is truly better? The devil you know or the one that might not even be a devil? The answer may be finding your own way. Where there is no place for either devil. But that's a hell of a lot easier on paper than it is in reality. When I woke up today, joyriding on industrial equipment certainly wasn't what I had expected, but I should have known those two would get bored when Jace and Kels suggested ship spotting at the spaceport a few sectors over. Seriously, the fact that Jason and Rebecca are siblings is a fact that, to this day, never ceases to amaze me. One wants to watch ships and daydream, and the other wants to practically hi-jack a cargo mag train. Kels might be just as bad as Alex and 'Becks because she seemed content enough to go along with it after an hour or two of watching ships land and take off. Did she decide to do it just to make Jason happy? If I didn't know Kels was the same as me regarding the opposite gender, I'd daresay she had a crush. No, maybe she just sees the little brother she always wanted in the lad. Still, it was nice to see Jason animated and a bit more lively than usual. It was a refreshing change from his usual quiet nature. Hell, thinking about Jace and Kels, maybe even I'm guilty of it. Even if he gets his looks from his mum, he's definitely his da's kid at heart, and I feel responsible for him as if he was my own brother. Rebecca is the total opposite; she gets her eyes and hair from her dad, but she's every bit the lively spirit of her ma. But also different, her heart runs a hell of a lot colder; she cares for us and Jason, but anyone else, it seems, can go to hell. I have to look out for her the opposite way I do, Jace, I feel. More like being the angel on her shoulder than actually watching her back. It's funny, though, if it wasn't for the blond mop on Alex's head, I'd swear he was the little brother and not Jason 'cause sometimes I think he and 'Becks share the same damn brain. The only difference is Alex certainly could use an actual family; I know his dad does try, but that cunt he has for a mother, bloody hell. Demon of a woman. Don't get what makes 'Becks tick the way she does; dunno if I ever will, but I do bloody know for a fact that demon bitch is the reason Alex is the way he is. But, as far as our little joyride was concerned, I didn't object to it. But in my defence, between studying for tests that only guarantee a right thorough fucking by BMM or Bowex, or a once, possibly last-of-a-lifetime opportunity to have stupid fun AND have a hell of a story to tell? Well, choice isn't that difficult, but maybe that's just me being as bad as the rest of 'im. The feeling as we raced along the mag-rails was intense. I remember holding on for dear life and thinking I'd need a new set of boxers by the time it was done. It felt like pure terror, but bloody hell did it get the adrenaline pumping. I certainly still laughed after the ride ended, so, hey, what does that make me? Maybe I'm just as nuts as Becks and Lynchie. That explains how we're friends. After we were done with our high-velocity joyride, we all had to fucking leg it from the annoyed workers at the cargo depot. Think they wanted to hand us over the BPA or give us a stern bollocking about the dangers of the stupid stunt we just pulled. Either way, none of us were taking the chance, so we ran 'till our legs just nearly fell off. Thank bloody god that the depot was close to our res' district. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried about the thought of getting a bollocking the moment I got in the door at home, but Dad didn't say anything when I got back other than asking if I had a good day. Wonder how the others got on when they got in the door. But it can wait until tomorrow; right now, I'm so tired I feel like I can sleep for a week after today. All in all, a fun day leaves me wondering just how fucked I am.
