Howdy there. My name is Jack Cole, call me Jack. No misters or sirs needed with me. I am a specialist with Ageira Innovations and I'm reaching out to the kind folks over in DSE for some assistance with a personal project of mine. An approved project mind, don't you worry. I'll give you the short of it and what I might need and then we can work out the details from there.
It's simple enough, I'm collecting the various models of transport class engines and running a suite of tests to compare and, with luck, improve Liberty transport efficiency. I'm starting with Ageira's own Stegodon and a classic Bison. I won't get into the weeds about every test but basically I want to see how the ships respond to each model engine, what modifications are needed for each to bring them to spec, and finally see if any entrepreneurial innovations may have been made by manufacturers outside of the Houses that we can learn from. Simple, right partner? So here comes my request for assistance. I'm hoping I may get help from DSE engineers and their hands-on expertise, not only to install/uninstall the components but to troubleshoot and adapt the not quite compatible parts. Also, safe to say yall have shipyard capabilities that I just don't have access to which would allow for quick and safe testing and switching out of the engines in a controlled environment.
Anyway partners, let me know what yall think. Oh, and don't think I'm asking for a hand out. Findings will be shared fully... Well, obviously there's a few things on the Stegodon that are proprietary Ageira tech, but yall know how that goes.

Hi Jack, Chaz here.
The boss is currently busy, so I am taking the time to respond. Let me introduce myself as well. I'm relatively new at DSE, having recently graduated from our internal engineering courses. Alongside my studies, I've had the opportunity to work on various tasks within DSE, which helps me pay for these studies. This particular task also landed on my desk, so I went and had a chat with the guys over at Baltimore.
While, like everyone, they suffer from personnel shortages, they were able to provide a small crew of some mechanics and engineers. These guys have experience with the Bison; they should be able to get your test parts and diagnostics tools on and off without a sweat. We have also put you on the list for drydock access. However, I do want to say that these time slots are very in demand, so make sure to schedule these in advance with the appropriate department on Baltimore.
Seeing how you guys over at Ageira are already a reliable partner of ours, you can use your Ageira accounts on the terminals, and all usage of equipment and drydock will be booked under the Ageira account. We informed the crew to do the same. This should ensure our financial departments will handle it.
I hope this is all clear so far, and don’t hesitate to ask me or the people over at Baltimore if you have any more questions. I might see you soon since I am staying over at Baltimore for a few days due to some changes to our ships, so I might swing by to see how things are going. I look forward to hearing about your findings.

Alright, so first off I'd like to apologize for taking so long getting back to yall. The spec plate on an Edge Worlds model of one of the test engines was incorrect (perhaps to pass inspection I'd wager) and when we tested it there was an overload, blowing the bay. No one was hurt fortunately and your engineers got things sorted out real fast. Real professionals that lot. Anyway, obvious delay. Then on top of that, some bug has been going around on Pueblo and our offices weren't spared. We all but kidnapped some Cryer docs to whip us into shape and everyone is on the mend now.
I want to get this out of the way first, there are still models that could be tested but I can't get my hands on. Legally I doubt it would be smiled upon for me to stroll into a Hessian base, I'm sure. So if there are any known resellers of engines belonging to entities like that, or if you know procurement agents that can get them, I'd appreciate the info.
Results so far: (refer to page 32, paragraph 2 for the model index)
-Models 1a through 7c are compatible and comparable to each other when installed on both the Stegadon and Bison within a few percentage points. These are mostly House corporate or navy built so this is expected given the abundance of free trade.
-Exceptions are model groups 3 and 5. Rheinland and Crayter spec, while they work, are simply too different in design philosophy to be efficient alternatives nor are they candidates for innovation due to the differences.
-Model 8b, Core make, shows promise. If I didn't know better, I'd say they had modified Ageira tech standards in the manufacturing.
-Of note, perhaps as an aside, a handful of the engines I had shipped in from the Omicrons via Core and Taus via Crayter had bizarre modifications and tech inclusions. Models 9a-9d for reference. These were purchased 2nd hand from those regions so the exact sources are unknown. Wholly incompatible with Liberty ship design without specialized retooling and seemingly built for powerplants not in use on any ships I am aware of. I am not ruling out illegal alien tech usage.
The documents go over everything in greater detail. I am hopeful, if disappointed, that merging elements of Core engine components into an Ageira standard enginee may yield results but I fear this combination may require the Stegadon's more robust reactor and the Bison might not be the better for it. I say disappointed because none of the tests thus far show signs of any breakthrough in new designs, simply small efficiency gains. I will continue the tests so long as yall will have me though and I am very hopeful on potential results if those models I am missing can be obtained. I am willing to bet organizations that live on the fringes as they do have made some rather radical modifications that I dearly want to examine.

Hi Jack,
Talking about delays, yeah, as you noticed, we got some as well. We’ve encountered some challenges, including personnel shortages and unexpected incidents, contributing to my workload. I apologize for my delayed response as well.
But besides that, it's good to see some results from the testing. It's a shame about the overload, but luckily, nobody got hurt. We’re covered by insurance for those events, but getting Interspace to cough up the money? That’s like trying to get past an LPI Officer that did not have their coffee and donuts. It's not our problem, so I’m not losing sleep over it.
I can imagine your disappointment about no breakthroughs but hopefully, the next results will show something that will blow us away. I'll share the documents with the rest of our engineers and see what they can find, maybe they will find some clues. I noticed that Ageira is still booked on the drydock terminals, which suggests that research is ongoing. Please feel free to use the facilities as needed, as long as they fit within the budget. If the budget becomes a concern, I can see if we can still allocate some funds for this endeavour.
As for sourcing those engines, I wish I had some recommendations for reputable resellers but sadly i can not realy think of any. I think your best bet would be to see if anyone is willing to acquire these over the neural net, For the right price you never know what someone can bring you.
Chaz out.
**P.S.** Just a gentle reminder to book your time slots for the drydock in advance, as there is high demand. First, farthest, fearless.
