Roleplay smart and you'll find things fare better for you.
I don't understand - how is Mollys ignoring a BMM base in Dublin but putting all on freelancers at the same time not completely oorp and immersion breaking right after taking graves ?

As you said before ..... but the roleplay was sufficient anyway to avoid a siege. And to be quite honest, noone is going to give an honest opinion here are they.

They didn't ignore the BMM base, it was already sieged once, I would think you would remember that siege since you were directly involved in fighting during it.

Yeah, but they are ignoring, withdrew siege and it's a oorp deal with a faction co-run by staff right? They won't siege it anymore because of that I believe?

They aren't trying to siege it right now because both sides involved admitted that doing that is detrimental to anyone actually enjoying playing the game. Another siege would simply result in a declared siege on the RPA base again, which would result in another stalemate that leads to two failed sieges and a ton of wasted time and effort. Nobody involved on either side is interested in doing that at this time.
Guys, let's keep it civil - there's something to be learned from what happened here, so there's room for good discussion.
Claiming bad faith and accusing people of actionable bad behavior in the form of conspiracy with zero evidence or rational basis is not constructive.
Yeah - an OORP deal that frankly breaks immersion completely when you go after freelancers while BMM sits there after liberating Dublin - freelancers can't defend themselves so you just kill them
- let's not pretend this is some grand roleplay please, sieges always lead to oorp things like this - the ship has long sailed on expecting the community to have empathy - the mechanics would have to change.
But I don't see a way to change the broken mechanic really without drastically restricting who can have PoBs
Let's compare this with Beaumont Spire (now Aland Monument). The Junker Congress wanted to negotiate with IMG over the PoB owner (who in that circumstance was acting somewhat OORP due to ties with BMF). But the PoB owner insisted on siding with BMF, so this led to a siege. The owner contacted Aegis (and other bounty hunters) and lawfuls but nothing had been done. However, the siege failed to destroy the base due to Corsair interference of all things.
Now, the circumstances here are mostly similar. Artemis making a move to buy the PoB in a space embargoed by Bretonia and protected by Mollys drew the ire of the latter. In fact, the same response was drawn. Except that the base is technically violating the law, hence why Aegis stayed loyal to Bretonia. Now the difference is the Corsairs are uninterested in defending that base, merely seizing the opportunity to reduce one of their greatest enemies' presence.
Lisheen, a BMM base owned by Galway, was, in fact, sieged by the Mollys. This led to a counter-siege by the lawfuls, but both sides learned it was mutually detrimental and was cancelled.
PS: In fact, BMF has been seen (click here) undocking from Scaglainne Oir. There was no conspiracy, just some OORP salt thrown by the PoB owners. It would be better for them to understand what went wrong and how to avoid this mistake in the future.
PoB was taken over by a buncha dudes who expected no fallback from the fact they didn’t introduce themselves to us BEFORE buying. In essence, they proceeded incorrectly. They also got caught letting Armed Forces - HMS-Thunderain, among others, undock/dock to the pob. The dumbest move by far.
“We have a Freelance pob that complies with the Molly Demands, but allows BAF vessels to dock at it.” How smart!
Point is, dont buy a pob before you establish permission from the home system’s vessels. Aside from this, you also didnt know about the embargo, expecting BAF to come flocking to your aid when you got declared on. Should really count yourself lucky BAF dont have siege declaration access to Dublin, else you uh. Would have been met with ships a little larger than what we could field. By all means, defend what your intents are. But if youre gonna try roleplaying something “beneficial to the mollys”, reach out first ye? Itll save you the heartache of losing more pixels in the future.
