I would say the IMG as a faction player wise would be on thin ice, but not openly hostile. Defend yourself no problem, but never open fire on them first.
I wouldn't be too surprised if the IMG did some under the radar dealings with the Junkers for hard to find/illegal equipment.
no one wants to - but whats the big deal? - if you don t mount stuff that is marked as your "enemy" on your faction ID - why should you be sanctioned? - all warship turrets are rather free for all anyway - with the exception of faciton specific turrets that are clearly your enemies.
but lets say - a BHG can mount any lawful turret there is - no matter if its bretonian, liberty, rheinland or kusari, img, gmg, zoner, solaris and even nomad works for the BHG. - you d have to mount a dragonfly, corsair or order turret to really head for a sanction. but thats cause these factions are your enemies.
now i don t know what enemies the junkers have except hogosha - but since the hogosha hasn t got any turrets - you ll hardly be tempted to buy them. - and since they are at least "tolerated" or "accepted" by all, they can prolly mount any turret there is .... maybe sometimes under doubtful eyes, but still not sanctionable.
The corsairs recently disappeared from the IMG hostiles list. I assume that's because the Corsairs want the guild to press the Outcasts a bit in the Taus and for that reason, they let the miners takea breath in Omega 7, dublin and Cambridge. It's no alliance, the Corsairs still consider the miners as lesser beings, but in the whole big conflict, they want to use them as nuisance for the Outcasts. The Corsairs don't want to weaken the IMG, because they know it as a result would strenghten the Outcasts.
IMG/Junkers
They never meet. No mutual interests. logically, the two gangs would be completely neutral with eachother. Ingame, killing Outcasts makes them red.
IMG gunboat turrets are sold on the following bases:
Falkland (Tau 37) Java (Tau 23) Freeport 4 (Magellan)
And all bases in Tau 44 except Sarawak.
They cost 540 000 creds a piece, use the Kusari missle turret model, shoot white projectiles with a pink-ish point (As if you were throwing roses at the enemy) And sound like the codename guns from 1.0.
For a long while, the IMG has been a dumpster for all ship designs, that no other faction wanted/looked good with. Such as the Albatrs, Spatial, R. talon and a few others. Because of this, the IMG got labeled as some of the better shipbuilders in Sirius, who sell their products on the open market. Quite ironically, we (BSG/CR) often fought against Raven talons becaus their infocard states them being sold on the black market.
And thus, I think everyone except maybe Outcasts and their closest allies may use IMG turrets.
IMG and the Junkers I imagine would have mutual interests regarding open trade hubs and limiting corporate expansion. Also, both sides love money and individual freedom. They don't cross paths much, but when they do they get a great 'I don't mess with you, you don't mess with me' thing going and both sides walk away richer for the exchange.
Personally I got an IMG Gunboat for my Junker 'Negotiator'. Not because I specifically wanted it, but because there were no other real options -- legal neutrality is hard to maintain with a Lunchbox or Rogue GB.

See, the Spatial being an IMG ship burns me, being a devoted Junker player.
Haphazard hull design, big honking engines, and a nasty forward battery -- that's got 'salvaged and pieced together' all over it.

Yep--the Spatial should be ours! It has the awesome firepower and marginal performance of almost all Junker designs. Haha.
I consider the IMG "neutral" with the potential of seeing a few mutual benefits here and there with Junkers. They are independents and deal with a lot of the same factions only are more troubled by them. Junkers might give them a little help now and then and I imagine the average Junker would have some respect for their chutzpah.
Never bed mates but probably quite sound deal on the side makers with one another.
