Right but i would still be illogical due to the fact the the LN Guard is within easy striking distance of Mactan. The hackers would be running a constant hack to keep that bloody gate sealed if that was the case. And then we are back to square one.

it would have to be checked... but yeah... so now Hackers can steal the next high tech ship liberty makes there....

Leave it to Kurraine to come up with a generally good solution to a very odd problem.....

Can anyone say genuine RP for the Spyglass?
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
It isn't all that easy to steal a ship or blueprints. You can't just walk in, go "Hai. I'll take that, thank you. Bai."
And even if they managed to steal something high-tech(Which, if you ask me, is most prolly developed in Alaska) the Lane hackers wouldnt have the resources to build it.
I think what Adam may have meant is that instead of NY->Magellan it becomes NY->Virginia. And the Magellan half of the original combo becomes derelict and useless.
Other than that if that gate is re-opened as is, anything that can travel Liberty to Bretonia would ah\ve to be nerfed horribly, besides only giving pirates about 50k to actively pirate in, not accounting for the high volume of folks that'll be using that lane, ergo making it pointless to pirate in, meaning we get even more Lib dreads running around Liberty. Nay to reopening that gate. Maybe a JH from NY to Cali, but if that JG is re-opened as is I'll be parking half the LR next to it every day to ensure it is never ever used.
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
Basically, the NY-Magellan jumpgate was a cheap plot device that Microsoft/Digital Anvil used to get the player out of Liberty fast, and is the only jumpgate (I believe) that is not directly aligned with the corresponding jumpgate in the destination system. Which is one reason why I suggested Virginia, as it is likely the Navy would have constructed a jumpgate to their Guard system to move heavy caps in and out of, rather than risking the dangerous and possibly unstable jumpholes.
