We all know Arms dealers, they are usually Luxury Liners selling hard to acquire equipment then sell thaem at lets face it, an extortionate price.
We all dream of taking down an Arms Dealer ship with all its weapons to loot, but they are and you cannot deny cowards who run for the F3 button to dock, although I can sympathise on the dealer side, a lot of equipment. I'd be ticked if I got killed and lose all my Code weapons or missile launchers.
The thing is, how can we destroy them legally? While we type on our keyboards about "surrender all your cargo or die" sort of thing, they just hit the F3 button and cok and we cannot do anything about it.
There has to be a way to counter it, we have pirates for traders, unlawfuls for lawfuls, but what can we do against Arms dealers? They think they are invincible being do close to Capital stations or rings.
There NEEDS to be a counter or way to take them down legally and fairly. For the sake of BALANCE.
For every pro there is a con. We need to in a way, lower the Arms Dealer business, I don't hate or despise it, but I think they have it TOO easy. This in a way can't be allowed. Some work their asses off to get money while these guys roll around a capital planet and let the money roll in.
I know its tempting to kill them, but what balance are you talkin about; they are neutral they sell their weapons at the price they want, and they are not doing much harm to anyone. It is little coward to run from a fight and yes at some point we could say that running from fight they violate rules, but if they dont how will they protect theirs investment and "hard" work of acquiring that weapons. Sry man but i dont see any legal way to kill them and they are usualy near big planets for example NY or some pirate planet .... Killin someone there is stupid since your become enemy to that system. Dont know man it is interesting subject but i dont think so youll get positive answers. This is only my opinion. Thanks WitchKing:DMoney is important yes but not so much. Joining faction with good rp, and they will give you everything.
Looking at it from another perspective... some people do whatever they can to kill someone carrying some guns...
I have a zoner "dealer" and fly around a bit... last time I got attacked by Hessian, Corsair and Outcast (first two together) without any real reason..
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
As you said above these guys put hard work into getting the weapons, think again. Some people have characters dedicated to log in once, and 'farm' the weapons then log out. Not very RP and very dastardly.
Weapons farmers need to be killed. They are not contributing to the server RP, no arguments.
Its a dirty business that needs a legal counter, to give pirates a chance to earn some jackpot money, these Arms dealers have it too easy for my taste.
' Wrote:I think a squadron of Xeno bombers cold do it...
I agree. Plan out an attack with about 4-5 bombers(not neccesarily xenos but any works) and have a few torps/missles and just do all out attack with little warning
On the flipside.....Weapons dealers are needed by everyone for the most part so why kill em to claim the goods yourself? Yea you would be able to equipt/make good money off it but that just looses business and time from the dealer
Or you can look it that way, i rly dont have anything against anyone but there is some truth but i was not talking about that, what i wanted to say is that if they are gonna be dealers they should then be neutral and have reasonable prices and sell wep to everyone or the highest bidder, in this way they could rp. Get me, That chars should be Neutral and pick some Neutral palce to sell it like a shop.
first of all, arms rates are not fixed. people choose to sell their guns at whatever rate they wish. if you have someone willing to pay excessive amounts of money for a gun that they can just loot themselves, let em. how does that situation affect you?
not all arms dealers have it easy. there is a helluva lot of competition (specially when someone like me is the one who started the business on disco anyway, and people like bill mason [kuraine], and Cray industries [kindred] are competing to make money). its very rare you will find an arms dealer far from a docking point, because, as you stated, its a lot of equipment, and a lot of hard work put into it.
just like you spend a lot of time trading to get money, you have to spend a lot of time -collecting- the guns itself to make any profit. with the amount of codename looters out there, its hard to be the first one most of the time.
arms dealers can be taken down, only difference is, it depends on your luck, and timing, and how far the armory is from a dock point. Ive hunted arms dealers too, and Ive had some escape with 1% hull left, due to quick dock, but then again, Ive also killed arms dealers, using their loot for my own profits (faction banks, or selling em)
