Right... well here's what I do when I play freelancer. I start up the account manager, make sure I'm in Bs|, hit the Disco shortcut on xfire, wait for the game to load, press the multiplayer button, and go on as my fighter. Always fighter first. I then hit "y" to see if anything seems wrong somewhere and launch into space. Then one of two things happen. I launch and space is relatively empty, with the usuall hostile npc's running around. Or, I launch into Space and there's Player controlled Bounty Hunter Capships around. I've seen as little as 1 and as much as 3+. But it's always always always Bounty Hunter capital ships. I have NEVER seen a player controlled Bounty Hunter fighter. And I've only seen 1 bomber. Ever. Now personally, this is getting ridiculous.
First off, I'll give you the RP reasons. The Nomad war ended years ago. And there is no point in Liberty being at war with the Order anymore. Bs| no longer launches offensives into Liberty and we try to avoid firefights with Libetry forces. Just the other day 2 LSF ships entered Minor pursuing a Nomad fighter. I asked them what they were doing there, they said fighting the Nomad, myself with a fellow Bs| found them, and engaged the Nomad as well. However, before doing this the LSF agreed to leave once the Nomad was killed and that we would not shoot eachother. Outcome? I was impressed. The 2 LSF fighters left Minor as the Nomad fled. Although we didn't kill it there was not shots fired between Bs| and the LSF and I'm happy about that. We also have Stewcool and the Tenabras acting as a Diplomatic peace vessel from the Order to Liberty. From where I see things, things are going good and I hope to improve our relations with Liberty.
Now where do the Bounty Hunters come in? Well, besides the fact that if Liberty is no longer at war and the Bounty Hunters shouldn't be fighting the Order anymore, what bounties are there on us and why spend so many resources, ships, and personel fighting us? As far as I'm concerned, they are a risk to Sirius. They come into Minor killing Nomads and Order ships when in RP they could easily get infected cause frankly, they're just there to kill. If I see a Liberty vessel in Minor I'll ask it to leave, if I see a bounty hutner vessel in Minor, I'll kill it.
Now
Now for the Player reasons. I would find it alot more fun and better if I saw a decrease in capships and an increase in fighters. I don't care what the reason for all the Bounty Hunter capwhoring in Minor is, it's out of control and it's got to stop. Yesterday I launched into space and there was a Bounty Hunter destroyer there. I stood back and when a friendly Osiris came we attacked it. It was almost dead but then a Bounty Hunter Battleship showed up, killed the Osiris and I had to run for it. Today I heard reports of 3 Bount Hunter Orca Gunboats killing Order npc's. 3! 2 of them left and I ordered a friend over xfire to terminate the last one on account of it killing Order personnel. And he did and that's good. A few weeks ago, myself with another Bs| or 2 were flying around in Delta when we found not 1, but 2 Bounty Hunter Battleships! 2! One fled cause we got re-inforcements and we had 1 Osiris, some bombers and a few fighters and we ende up killing the one that was left.
My point is this, there are just too many Bounty Hunter Capital Ships in and around Order space. Never a single fighter... never. And it's really getting on my nerves. And frankly for now I'm stuck watching the Bounty Hunter if I have no re-inforcements cause my Destroyer isn't ment for combat and my Osiris funds are still growing but not quite there yet. But when it is... I will personally fly around Order space and systems around it destroying all the Bounty Hunter ships I was stuck watching before. I have their names and I know who they are so they're going to have to change. Now I'd much rather do this first to see if it works. I'm trying to do the nice and right thing by asking the entire community for this insance Cap whoring to stop. It's killing all the fun and I see no point in it both in and out of role playing. I'm sorry if this has sounded bad but it's been happening too long and I'm fed up about it now. I really hope this does something cause I don't want to resort to capwhoring to fix capwhoring.
Thanks for reading and I hope this works.
Im with you on that. Obviously. I try to talk peacefuly to the BH last time I encountered one. He surprisingly left me be and I did so to him.
But really the fact is BH shouldnt have any where near that many Battle Ships sitting in our systems. 1 at most but with good reason. And all the Battleships out there have cap armor VII and VIII (WHAT THE FLIP!)
Whilst I can't help but agree with 95% of what you said, the 5% is that there are definately BH fighters/bombers over that side. I know, I've had first hand experience. It does happen, rarely, but it does. Unfortunately, that still doesn't change the other 95%....
I saw an Order Osiris fly up to Manhattan earlier today - not that I'm complaining, it saved my Xeno from a BH Destroyer, but still, you call that fostering better relations? I know it was an independent, but still, get the word out.
I have a BHG Manta, Hammerhead, and Bomber (I had a Bs| Cruiser take pot-shots at me as I went to get the SN:dry:), and if you want some BHG fighters that way, I can put the Manta on FP11 and harass you some, though I usually hang out around Bretonia.
But yeah, the capwhoring is just plain wrong - I don't see how people get fun out of that...
I agree i would Gladly see a bit more BHG fighters Swissis Kinda Righ i think No war with Liberty means No more Business for the BHG me thinks Dont ou think its unfair One Single Fighter VS Like a Destroyer or Bigger?
Yey Planning on going back to the RoS With a leash and collar arround Mah Neck yey. And Will be Active in GRN and EFL... [Once i start playing again]
I have a BHG VHF, Bomber, Gunship, and later, a Destroyer. I was told that heavy warships are placed in Order space while our fighters hunt bounties in House space. I understand your frustration, so I'm gonna bring my bomber and VHF to Delta.
Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits
Last i heard, bounty hunters were fighting the order trying to gain access to the nomad technology they were developing.
On a more realistic note.... Bounty hunter cap ships are being restricted to the omicrons soon (again last i heard). This means the only place for these cap ships to fly is in order space.
Agreed, there is a high ratio of cap ships to fighters in nomad space, but that is because the omicrons are a real dangerous place for fighters. You stop paying attention in a fighter class ship for 2 seconds and BOOM the npcs get you.
My opinion.....the omicrons were designed for cap whorage due to the npc danger, so unfortunately yeah, build up your arsenal. I hope the order get a full line of cap ships soon. They deserve a BCer imo, since they are the most technologically advanced.
what pisses me off is that the bounty hunters come at us with 90% capships, 10% fighters, while the order works the other way around... 10% capships, 90% fighters.
The Order, since vanilla FL, has been an organization of elite fighter pilots - Why the **** does the BHG need to bring in battleships when we have few of our own? we dont even have a bomber that's capable of dealing with them yet.
Bounty hunter capships should never have been added to this mod in the first place.
