' Wrote:Because the BH probably got tired of attacking places like Omicron Gamma in fighters and being destroyed by Capital ships. One time I was in gamma and I think three Core (or just generic BH) came into the system via Omega 41 and were quickly annihilated by something like 3 Legates, 2 Osiris BS's, 4 fighters, and probably 6 bombers. But I guess that's what you get for threatening the Corsair's home system!
Yeah, so now instead the BHs bring three caps (usually all Battlecruisers, the occasional BS) into Gamma when there are no Corsair caps online just to pvp-whore.
No longer active online due to a dwindling amount of non-PvP (trading, pirating, mining, etc.) fun in the new version.
ok, I have no problems against intruders in Guard system. BUT
Attacking it with a lone BB is pure non-sense and foolishness In RP. You would need escorts to attack such an heavily defended system, especially when there is 2 osiris in it (base+player). (so, no raids alone)
Then, you go in there, chat a very few lines, and say "now die". . . Could you have said more? Because everytime I see the "now die" I am more on the stance to think that the person only came for PvP, and not RP. Please... for the fun of all of us, don't do it this way again
I agree with most statements regarding more RP required with Bounty Hunter capital ships especially. I pilot a Bounty Hunter battleship myself, and am attempting to RP as much as possible. But when an Order pilot calls you a 'bastard' (or to that effect...forget the exact wording) when i politely asked him to release the Bounty Hunter pilots he had on-board, my trigger finger can get a bit happy...
As far as i know, Bounty Hunter capital ships were made to protect the outer sectors, and since we can't enter central systems (like many other BS's), its not exactly easy to complete bounty missions. If i run into a pirate, i don't usually engage unless he is of cruiser or higher class, or if the target is plundering innocent traders. Don't be so quick to accuse Bounty Hunters of being the only 'capwhores'. Ive been confronted by Corsair Dreadnaughts and Order Osiris' in Delta especially who will simply say 'Surrender your crew and ship to us'. And was teamed up on by 2 order osiris' and a corsair cruiser in Delta, who seemingly RP'd it until the second i left the safety of the Freeport, and they said 'Open fire'.
I know many of you have been attacked by Bounty Hunter 'capwhores', even by my character, but the main reason that many bounty hunter capital ships are so trigger-happy is that they are usually out in the rim sectors by themselves, without any other support. We don't really have a 'clan' network or anything, whereas corsairs, order and outcasts alike all have a support network, in which they call in support when needed. I can't count the number of times i have let a pirate pass purely out of the goodness in my heart, only to find he comes back minutes later with an armada.
Personally, i'd like to see a better support network for BH ships, and for them to be tagged with [BHG] at the front of their names (i'm working on my name right now), so other people can tell who they we and not be left guessing for who to go to when asking for a bounty to be placed on another player's head. Hopefully then we can successfully recognize other Bounty Hunters, and group together to better RP attacks and patrols.
yes, but sangraal you constantly go into alpha looking for a fight, in rp you shouldnt be doing that.

No there were 2 BBs. I was targeting Osiris, and the other was holding NPCs off me/shooting stationary Osiris.
And about "Now die." part; It was about 10mins after the begining of attack. I stopped the attack on him
to see what he has to say, and then he says he is gonna report to my superiors. Like i said before:
*phone rings*
"Hey Hitler, your general here is invading France on unfair way, he cant take Paris, it's our main city, punish him!"
I mean it's just dumb to say something like that. And i had to wait 10 minutes and encourage him to even
say something, and then i get a crap like that.
@Asgaridan
Valid points.
1 of the best:
Quote:The main reason that many bounty hunter capital ships are so trigger-happy is that they are usually out in the rim sectors by themselves, without any other support.
I ecounter a Corsair preafect, and while i try to RP with him, he calls in 2 Legates from Gamma to Delta.
Then i see em move to Kappa. Like hell ill keep RPing with him, ill destroy him before reinforcements arive.
And for the record, RPing with Corsairs is impossible. They always complain about how we are never RPing. But while you try to type something they attack you.
Only persons in Corsairs that i found at least some respect for are these:
Dins.el.Darer - Legate, perfect RP, wont attack you on sight with "die pwnzor" like other Corsairs.
[OPG]Black.Mutt - Always gives a fair fight, very good RP.
Corsairs-Zavier.Benitez - Excelent RP and fair.
[OPG]Cricifix - Very good RP, at least he will give you a fair fight, if nothing else.
Oh and these are 2 persons in BHs i have absolutley no respect:
Killing-You - Destroyer, very bad RP, wont listen orders.
Frying-You - Destroyer, very bad RP, wont listen orders.
These 2 came in the middle of me and Zaviers RP and started blasting the poor guy even after
i told em in privat chat not to open fire on him. I told them again to stop it but they did not listen.
Then i dropped shields on 1 of them and they started paying attention...
Sangraal, just a note. The Guild Core (not necessarily [Core]) builds and operates all the Bounty Hunter Capital ships, and they are assigned to the Omicron systems to battle Nomads and the Order. They don't take bounties (as they have the rest of the Guild to complete them) and they are focused on destroying the Order. So really, it's fine for a Bounty hunter battleship / battlecruiser whatever to attack the Order.
I just guess the home system isn't the best place to assault. The Guard defenses are not what these players should worry about; they should be concerned by the OORP backlash:P.
(I have a Guild Core Orca, planning to upgrade to a Destroyer. No flames about me being a capwhore thx).
This server has many, many people actively playing on it. Some role play to the hilt. Others prefer the rp-lite approach. Everyone else is somewhere in between. Roleplaying is a subjective exercise, difficult to quantify. What is legit rp is the eternal question on these forums. And the source of much needless flameage.
When the Core started raiding Gamma on a regular basis, I began to hook up with them. I had a BS at the time and I needed the shooting practice. The RP basis for being there was basically to probe the strengths of the Corsairs and to weaken the close ally of an enemy (The Order). Not epic rp, but rp nonetheless. I'm here to play a game, not write a science fiction novella.
To the Core's detractors I would point out the fact that they have recently begun using bombers on these aggressive recons to good effect.
If there were more Order players active, I think that there would be more skirmishes in O.Delta and O.Minor. Why aren't there more Order players? Does it have to do with the ships? Order weapons are top of the line, so it can't be an issue about having to use underpowered weps. Is the ZOI a problem for some players? The Order background story seems interesting enough.
Concerning Omicron 100, I will enter that system for my own purposes, one of which does not include attacking or spying on Order installations. I can't speak for all BH who have been in O-100, but my character has his own reasons for being there. If an Order ship spots my ship in O-100, I will tell them in detail why I am there. However, I normally use another route to get to where I must go. Space isvast - something that you don't really get to experience in this game - so even a guard system will have holes in its security.
The whole guard system idea is a bit odd anyway, but I digress.
If I am in Omicron Alpha, -Beta, or -Eta, I have an rp reason to be there. I leave it to your cardimine-enhanced mental faculties to figure out why I am in your systems. I won't be telling any Outcasts my reasons for being in their space. And no - the reason is not to pvp. Any intruder unwilling to leave upon detection is usually intercepted by a small flotilla of your cap ships, so pvp is pretty much a one-sided affair.
Everyone should rp on this server, but without the pressure of having to live up to someone else's idea of what your rp should be. Personally, I don't make it a point of trying to make everyone happy or earn respect points. I like flying my caps and I guess that makes my rp inferior by default. But I won't be losing any sleep over it.
Nonetheless, I try to follow the general guidelines of roleplaying and try to help others stay immersed in their rp.
Peace.
P.S. @Robert Fitzgerald: You might think twice about losing your Orca. It will be fixed (not nerfed) in the next mod. Imagine - you'll actually be able to use the front gun!
Heh then brute these baddies. I always wondered howcome order+corsairs are unable to come up with 3 caps and beat them in to submission?
i'm avaliable over skype... with a BS on standby... we should create a Skype order BS list...
then when something like this happens gang up on them...
