mining has been a topic on the dev forum about 4.85. it is not only gonne be fixed, but most probably getting fully new scripts to make the mining a real alternative to trading ( well, in the ways and methods possible of course )

Yeah, I have read thatm, but still, noone told that they will realy make it, just that its a good idea, and it may be done...But no 100% yes or no *Cry* I just wanna know if I should delete the mining platform now, or keep it for brighter future.

Mining is a bit broken at the moment. The loot drop is only a single item rather than multiple items. This is something I'm looking at and it is quite likely to be fixed in the near future...don't know how long exactly though.

Not all fields drop only a single item. I think the Silver fields near Pueblo in Colorado, and I also think the ice fields in Tau-37 drop between 6-12 items per asteroid you pop.

i'm hoping that along with drop amounts being fixed that they also make more fields minable. there are a ton of asteroid fields that yield nothing.....not even water.

my hopes are very high for mining in the next release

If mining will be really worth it, I'd love to see some RP with "mining squads" (mining ships mining ores and transports and freighters carrying it away.
I'm sure a lot of people would make a Junker or a mining corp char (I know I would)
