I had a short shift today, but nevertheless I still came across smugglers and kidnappers.
First up however, i undocked from Manhatten, and was alerted to a pirate in the tradelane between Manhatten and Fort Bush. He had already vaporized one civilian, and so i immediately proceeded to pirates location. Intel however did not indicate the target was a bomber, but even so the target was pursued into the debris field and we lost contact soon after.
A short time later, i intercepted a distress call emanating from Manhatten, as soon as i arrived, Navy pilots were already under attack, and so i immediately engaged the target. He was destroyed, but a junker allied with him somehow hacked the comms systems and showed up as being part of the Liberty Navy! He took me by surprise, he *may* have been the one firing at me during the attack on the other target, however i am not certain of this. After scanning his hold, i found several Liberty navy and Liberty Police pilots being held hostage. I demanded the release of these pilots, however he refused. I opened fire on him, however he managed to dock before i retrieved the pilots.
A Rogue by the name Jake Kyuzo was being chased at Norfolk by Bounty Hunters and other Navy, and so i joined the pursuit. Soon after i joined however, the target heeded to my order to halt. He also had held prisoner several Navy pilots, and once again, this foolish pilot failed to hand them over. He offered them 'at a price', but i refused this, and ordered he give them to me immediately or face destruction. He chose the latter option. I don't exactly know how he thought he could simply run away from 3 fighters, a gunboat and a Carrier, but i guess Rogues aren't renown for their high intellect.
After that, i took some time off as things had cooled down in Liberty after the hectic mess it has been the last week or so.

Greetings,
I apologize for my naivity on this subject, but i was wondering to whom i must report to recieve a promotion to Ensign? I had thought i was promoted, but I have recently been told that i am, still in fact a recruit. To prevent any issues, i will take orders from Ensigns and above until this can be sorted out.

Another day for Liberty, victory...at a price.
A quiet start to the day, the glorious sun blazing it's arcs across the sky. Innocent civilians waltzed back and forth, trade lanes constantly active, on and off and on again.
All to be ruined.
Fairbanks reported a large nomad ship heading towards New York. By some method it jumped to New York. Luckily, both the Yellowstone and Joe were there to stop it. While other officers were corralling everyone at Manhattan. a bomber squadron comprised of me, Hastings, LNF-Blackdawn, and another officer named Wrath moved to assist Joe. The nomad had moved into the badlands, where it opened fire. After a furious fight the cruiser was downed, our only casulty: Black Dawn's ship, which had been destroyed. Luckily, after a bit of searching we found him and retrieved his pod.
After a quick rest, we got reports of pirates in Cali. I moved in to scout out the system, since I had switched to my fighter, not wanting to wait for the engineers to finish repairs. I found a rogue gunboat at Magellan gate and quickly engaged. A nearby freelancer aided me as well. Unfortunately, a lane hacker arrived in his gunship, but luckily, Hastings and McTyre arrived in their bombers.
The fight ensured, but Hastings was downed, and with only one bomber left, it was only a matter of time before McTyre fell as well. However, the Commonwealth came to the rescue. The pirates were scared off and ran into Magellan.

A short patrol today, but some quality activity. First, the Order ship Big Fatty, a Zoner Juggernaut, was spotted on the West Point-Norfolk lane. I dropped from cruise with Krusa and another Navy man nearby, and the Order ship opened fire preemptively. I dodged his fire and combat was engaged, growing to include 4 Navy ships and the Bounty Hunter Battleship Sangrall. The Order ship was dispatched, and a state of normalcy returned.
Not long after restocking at Norfolk there was spotted a Rogue, by myself, at Fort Bush. I engaged and was soon aided by Petersun and Lane Security- Charlie. The fight was lengthy, but the Rogue was dispatched without any casualties on our side.
Lastly, I encountered an alien nomad named "Alien" on the Fort Bush-Manhattan lane, but he ran and escaped. Needing to call it a day, I headed for the Mississippi and docked there.

Upon destruction of the Rogue Gunboat previously mentioned, I came across-among other things- two nomad cannon. Knowing the policy upon keeping weapons from downed pirates, but knowing nomad technology to be dangerous, I have the gear currently secured in my ship's bay--and the ship under quarantine. Please respond with information regarding protocol to usage/destruction of this gear

Today's patrol began with a bang. Or many very loud gunshots over the New York sysCOMM channel. The independant trade ship, Heavy.Metal.Queen was broadcasting a very horifying message.
Gunshots, screaming, and the sounds of chaos were heard from her ship. Shortly thereafter, and emergency beacon went off above Manhattan, and i rushed to investigate. The Heavy.Metal.Queen was dead in space above Manhattan, and her captain was reporting that their load of pisoners had somehow escaped the big of her ship, and they were taking over the vessel. The captain managed to gather 86 of her 100 crew in a lifeboat and abandoned the ship.
A friendly trader, Daniel.Riviera was kind enough to pick up the survivors and his ship's doctor treated them for many wounds, including blunt force trauma, gunshot, and knife wounds. They were all taken to Manhattan for further medical treatment and debriefing by Navy staff.
On board the vessel, however, things were much worse. I hailed the ship, requesting them to accept a tow to Fort Bush, where things could be better sorted out, but they denied my request and then proceeded to ask for pardons for all of their crimes, and release from Liberty space. I tried to negotiate as best as i could, but my skills do not lie there. I offered them to either surrender or die. Their comms went dead a moment later.
After some tense moments, a young man came on the comms and requested that they be allowed to surrender, saying that the man who was leading them was dead. Apparently, the other prisoners didnt like the idea of dying in the cold of space. I towed the ship to Fort Bush, and turned the theives and prisoners in to LPI custody, where they are now awaiting booking and trial.
The ship was returned to her captain, and everything was clear for a while.
I was scanning all nearby ships when i picked up XT-47 in a prison liner, with a generic pirate ID and no IFF tag. He was carrying a Nomad Thruster, which i asked him to drop (//PMed him that he may dock to remove it) or leave liberty space.
He began to reply in a very suspicious manner, and i believe he may be infected. My reason for think that is because he kept referring to "the light" and that i could not truely "see". I ordered him to drop it or leave, or face destruction, but instead he Fled into Zone 21, and went through the gate into Alaska.
Ion storms were forecast in the area, so i advised everyone in New York to dock, and shutdown their ship's computers. I am writing this now on my datapad in my quarters on the Missouri, while waiting out this storm.
Thank you, fly safe

//And i am trying to set up a google sites page for the Liberty Navy, so that we can have a place that has all of the UP TO DATE laws and rosters, along with any other information we need (RP, standings, the works). If a high command (or any command, for that matter) could please contact me via Forum PM, it would be greatly appreciated. I have found too many times where i do not know someone elses rank (or even my own, for that matter) because there is very little centralization to our information.
Thank you Singer, however please note my rank is currently Lt. I'm prepping my ship as we speak for transport of the nomad goods.

I disembarked from the Mississippi, checking the long range sensors for any pirate or smuggler activity. I however, found a ship in distress in the Grand Negra cloud. The ship in distress was Gneisenau, claiming to be attacked by Xenos in his Container ship. Ensign Gunner along with a couple bounty hunters and I began to search the dark matter cloud. This was all a ruse however, stating that he smuggled slaves off Houston, and was heading toward Malta. I sent everyone back to key points in the system in an attempt to interdict the smuggler, but to no avail. I was able to take evidence of the rescue team trying to find him in the cloud.
I returned to Planet Houston, after Gneisenau left and found a smuggler by the name of "NudeTrader" who had a cargo bay full of slaves. I ordered the smuggler to stop twice, refusing the first request. I opened fire, blowing out his shields and by that time, he cut his engines and awaited for the slaves to be transferred. He was destroyed however, by the Battleship Mississippi before the transfer was complete. I was able to take some of the survivors in the blast back to Houston.
After I resumed patrol, I stumbled upon a Phantom/Outcast force preparing to attack New York. I was attacked by an Outcast Destroyer, along with 3-4 other phantoms. I was forced to retreat and asked for backup. We were unsuccessful in destroying the threat.
Reporting today from West Point, where I was forced upon an emergency landing. My day began at Fort Bush, and I headed down towards Manhattan, encountering a Rogue Gunboat immediately. Combat was engaged, and the fight was close. Near the end of the fight, a Bounty Hunter Battlecruiser appeared and quickly ghosted the ship.
Next was the combat that resulted in heavy damage. I ran into the Phantom "Gloom", a terrorist equipped with state of the art gear. I was far outclassed, he had a Rheinland Bomber with Coloda del Cids, but I challenged him directly mano e' mano and combat was engaged. The battle was long, however before either ship could be killed, bots and batteries were mostly exhausted on my side and he remained well off, and a few good shots blew away much of my armament. Left only with my Paralyzer Missile, Nuclear Mines, and the Supernova, I changed tactics. Interestingly this seemed to help and I had a couple of near misses as supernova rounds whistled near his ship. However I had only a few chances with the missiles I had remaining, and eventually I was left out of ammunition for all weapons. Thusly I conceded defeat to the opponent and prepared to dodge fire as I retreated--then something interesting. He stated something to the effect of "You fight with rare honor, so go." I guess a reference to our fight not involving the typical cries for backup (on both sides)... I was let to flee without being fired upon.
Interesting code he lives by, however I'm not complaining, saved me a ship. I'll be at West Point for repairs if needed.
Ryans out.
