Hey Rico, glad to see you posting again, even though your not back:).
*INCOMING TRANSMISSION*
*one word, pronounced through his teeth in a low voice - "Cardamiiine!"*
Your Master has thought you well. There's something I'm cookin' but for now it's just test renders. Anyway, so this doesn't stray (where was that "offtopic smiley"?) off the topic next in line was this:
the battleship had to be 316m wide x 322m high x 2047m long (in feet: 1056.4ft x 1036.7ft x 6715.8ft) in order to have a decent Sabre (12.5m x 8.5m x 17.2m == 41ft x 27.8ft x 56.4ft) squadron fit inside the flat front sections which are the only thing that looks like a fighterbay to me (I don't see any other use in that design, not bashing Eppy's design here, in fact I like it very much - looks like a sword:)). In fact if you go to Wikipedia and look at the Nimitz class supercarrier, you'll see that the size of that thing compared to the planes it's carrying is pretty much the same as the "fighterbay"'s compared to the Sabre. Besides the fact that, ingame, you could fit a few dozen planets in the battleship => Outcasts can Planetnap planets and, in a controlled environment, inject Cardamine into whole ecosystems without the trouble of fighting the locals - key to Outcast domination of Sirius :yahoo:- that's it! - don't forget the bulkheads and the rest of infrastructure needed to hold the behemoth together and add the hull armor.
Where was I? Does anyone care for the number crunching?

Might use that sentence in the future.

I, am confissled. As always when talking to you:laugh:
So, any reason why ye' be makin' those pictures? They look quite nice, maybe work on the space abit.
*all that fuss about transmissions from unknown sources and stuff here*

Shame on you!:P
Back on topic. I did this about a week ago but haven't had time to post:
That dessy is just over 700m long and can nicely nest four Sabres in the fighterbay (size makes sense compared to the battleship). Unfortunately... 12 turrets don't really work except in case it has the four big anti-cap ones - two on the top side and two on the belly, two bigger anti-fighter (one at each fighterbay entrance) and a bunch of smaller anti-fighter turrets hidden in the bulks around the hull which would make sense (where's that Huegenot from back before 4.84 with all those sweet guns?).
Anyway, Eppy, could you send me the 3ds/ms3d or whatever format of that new version of the battleship you made?
Well, what is all this for... Wolfpack and me (Discovery Freelancer escapees:lol:) had an idea of a story. It might look similar to this:
but with bigger pics, one on each page, maybe even a movie.
*the stuff nicked from cpt. Kirk here (the "second star on the left until the morning" thing)*

' Wrote:You actualy made that from scratch? Damn you Rico. I can has ur skillz?
Not really, not all of it actually, the models are extracted from the game, the textures are also from there but photoshoped, I made the bump/displacement maps based on the textures and the humans (Nightfall -sig and avatar- and Caterina are DAZ3D's Michael 3 and Victoria 4.2 for DAZStudio/Poser with various modified textures). Did I left anything out? Yeah, all that rendered in 3ds Max then enhanced a bit in Photoshop.
Fairly easy but time consuming.

Now that you mention it, ya it is, but I heard it last at the very end of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (the one where Kirk and McCoy are prisoners on the penal asteroid Rura Pente) so that's how I memorized it:)

You gotta be kidding! That's half of DAZ|Studio's function :lol:You're not making (much) stuff in DAZ, you got Max/Maya/LW and so on (even ms3d or gmax would do) DAZ is mainly for posing/clothing/fitting stuff to ready made models. Anyways, since you seem to like her:
and the guy in my sig:
with the Sabres nearing final looks:
and "Area 58", the Corsican Halloween Greeting:
The bar on Corsica looks like this (just loaded in 3ds Max):

So Rico, i don't suppose you could show me some tricks once i have the program up'n running again? -puppy dog eyes- (<--And i never do that) Since, it would be quite win if i finaly made my nomad character, Sil. That's what i got DAZ and Hexagon for.
