Now, since I decided to run a Zoner character here (I suck at pvp, so I chose a role that would minimize that aspect), I have had an inordinate amount of trouble getting a zoner tag to match my ID. I know this issue has come up a lot with people asking how to get it, but, as far as I read, noone *really* gave a satisfactory answer. As such, I thought I'd add a few notes of my own, so here goes:
Often mentioned with respect to zoner tags is the "double bribe". This is, as has been stated frequently, when both the bartender and someone else in the bar offers the same bribe. This completely confused me, as I was unable to find said "double bribe" at any freeport, until an important fact dawned on me:
when at a bar, only people that have an above average stnding with you (rep-wise) will offer you a zoner bribe.
IE, if you are at FP6, and your outcast rep, bounty hunter rep, BMM and kishiro reps, as well as your zoner rep (necessary-i'll mention this later) are quite low, there is no chance of you getting a double bribe here. The answer to this is to either get a bribe for one of the other factions that frequent the freeport first (in this case, get a Bh/OC/kishiro/BMM bribe), which can be got from the bartender. After that, your standing with the faction will be good enough, and you can get a multiple bribe, or, you can relocate to another freeport which is frequented by factions with which you have good rep.
I dont know for certain what the cutoff point at which you will be unable to get the bribe is, but its definitely complete neutrality or above.
In order to be offered a Zoner bribe by anyone, you obviously need a less-than-green rep with Zoners. However, it would also appear that a "just-under-green" rep is not low enough-I believe it has to be below the middle.
Most of this stuff is probably common knowledge, and I probably have a sub-par understanding of how FL works. However, I hope it helps people like me, who are feeling really frustrated with their Zoner reps, to get that sorted and to have fun playing.
If anyone has any questions/comments/insults, feel free to post here, Pm me on the forums (i am likely to check that quite infrequently), or pm me ingame (more likely to be noticed).
you can also forget about all the stuff like double bribe and go the normal way up to becoming a zoner.
i have done a total of 12 missions for GMG - raising kishiro and zoners ... i had to do some mission declines for both, GMG and kishiro all the time, but it took me little time to get a zoner tag on a random char.
so - yes, you can get a zoner by simply doing GMG missions....
Gran Canaria (Omega 49) has two bribes for zoners in the bar, do them both without going to any other thing (equipment, ect.) It also has a red hessian bribe which is wierd since thats corsair/zoner space and not red hessian...
yep - i do it regularly ( whenever i need my transport, the Sanctionoy ) - its only always a temporary transport... so i have to create that char new whenever i need it.
i usually go to gasminer naha and do some missions. - last time, my mission counter said 12 ( and quite a lot of declined missions, cause of course, you don t wanne become GMG / kishiro tagged in the process )
of course a bribe or double bribe works. - and there are of course many a ways to get a quicker zoner rep, like killing BHGs ( something many players do - and then they keep thinking the BHG are their enemies .. )
Only problem with killing BHGs or doing GMG missions is that you then get other faction allegiances-granted, it only applies to NPCs, but that can have an effect-hence my attempt to explain the bribes...they only affect your rep by a small amount negatively (I've noticed this for all faction bribes, actually).
' Wrote:Check Freeport 11 for bribes too. I found a triple bribe there...
As I mentioned, it is dependant on your reputation with the factions that frequent the freeport...however, I am not certain about FP 11 or any of the other freeports added in the mod ('tho I hear you can get a triple on Shasta(sp?)) (time for more openSP, methinks...).
If you want to be friendly with Outcasts, go to Freeport 10 and get the Outcast Bribe. Then go into the bar over and over again until you find two people giving Zoner bribe (Outcast bribe is required. The 2nd bribe will come from an Outcast, the first from the Bartender).
Friendly with Corsairs, go to Freeport 9. Get Corsair bribe, then go into bar until you find two people giving out the bribe. If you want a lawful rep, get a Bounty Hunter bribe at FP9 and do the same.
