yes, a nomad faction, but not the keepers, not the real nomads, and not the das wilde.
Rather, a group of independent nomads working either against the others or towards their own goals, perhaps exiled from the existing nomad group or cut off from the mindshare the keepers/nomads/wild use. I havent gotten everything fleshed out yet, but there's a few options right now - one that I'm thinking of in particular is using gaia (in edinburgh) as the focus, along with the nomad base in newcastle.
These nomads would probably still be hated by both the real nomads and 'humans' alike just for being related to the real nomads, but would have somewhat 'good' intentions. Think of it like the Tok'ra from stargate - they're still goa'uld, but act against the goa'uld. I've got lots of ideas, just trying to sort everything out and see what people think of the general premise.
The group would be both nomads (nomad light fighters) as well as 'infected' humans - more likely people who had chosen willingly to co-exist with a nomad parasite. If I went with the gaia theory then maybe gaians and bretonians would be the basis for the human members of the group - with admin permission perhaps a few bretonian ships could be used, cavaliers and the like.
Just throw out ideas and opinions on it, i gotta go to work >.<
Especially the fact that you based it on the Tok'ra from stargate, now i know exactly what you mean. I think that it's a really good idea, the Tok'ra only take hosts that are either dying or want to, so that faction could be nomad aswell. I would suggest that you don't only use nomad light fighter, because there not very good. I think there should be some nomad bases in the Gallia area that are dockable to this faction only. And that like with normal nomads only the admins should be able to give you the rep to dock there.
If this is accepted, send me a pm and i would love to join.
EDIT: noooooo!! My first reply status has been taken away, how dare you Sindroms and Hyung Soong!! I'm sad now, i'm going to eat a bucket of ice cream (starts crying and eating ice cream with spade).

It depends. Can we finally infect Canterbury with nomads? I'd like that - I've been trying to for a while now...
What about the Bretonian equivalent of the Wilde? The Wilde are former Rheinlanders, and there's supposed to be a group from each house. There's less in Bretonia, but it would be interesting to see.
at the very start of the nomad faction ... weren t the nomad NPCs considered to be "lost ones" or so? ( cause the reputation couldn t be easily fixed for the nomad player ) - so that would aim at "there can be more than one nomad clan"
that aside... whats the point of it when you get down to it. - would another nomad faction have different faction goals than the existing one? - nomads are not exactly multifascetted creates when it comes to multilayer thinking... they are more sturdy working at a unified goal.
I could see potentially having a version of the Wild in Bretonia, due to the research being done on captured Nomads at the Cambridge Research Station, but as far as having a seperatist or seperate version of Nomads - I don't think you could really do that due to the nature of Nomads themselves.
Beings with shared intelligences tend to not really be able to rebel - they tend to get destroyed by other members (based on other science fiction stories, anyway).
hey this is sweet. i like the Gaian idea personally.

Nomads exist and have always existed as a race that has pretty much a purpose and a goal shared by every single member of its species, they work together or not at all, such is the purpose of Mindshare and their telepathic links. That's the reason for their evolution and success. Also, it has been stated long ago when the Keepers were first created, that no faction apart from the Keepers and the Wilde can ever exist, and never will. So I'm afraid this is impossible no matter how good or bad it sounds.
