My story deals with an individual that was infected by a severely damaged nomad.
Possibly, I have two explanations:
1. The nomad is in excruciating pain and managed to infect the main character, where it lays dormant attempt to repair itself...or
2. The nomad was damaged in a manner that prevent from triggering it's mindshare, separating it from the rest of the nomads. Similar to what happened when the Hypergate was destroyed, but on a individual scale.
I would prefer the second manner since it would fit nicely with a future extension of the story. Anyone knows which option would be better?

Hmm.. Interesting. Thanks Treewyrm for telling us of that nomadopedia. Guess I have to wait for it to find out then eh? Hope I can do the RP char I was thinking of...
And thanks to all that contributed their thoughts on the matter too. Made me think much broader than I was previously - very enlightening indeed..
As Treewyrm already said, we'd like you all to be patient and not make wild guesses as to what happens or what doesn't happen when such things occur, also Wesen, please do not spread such info as it will only confuse people when the lore comes out, considering its rather..different from what you're saying. So, to all of you, patience is a virtue, all questions, no matter how detailed, will be answered when the lore comes.

Well who knew there was lore to come? No body ain't said to us nuthin' about no lore!
Is he like some evil twin android is is there actually a plan for lore? Sriously, is the mod update including new info on the Wild/Nomads?
We try to add new things to the lore all the time, researching and trying to figure out things to cover most of the questions people might have. It was first planned to be published in 4.85 I believe. And it just might be there as it comes out. Of course the lore will grow constantly, we'll be adding new stuff as it comes along even after it is published.

Treewyrm Wrote:all in all the conclusion is that disco doesn't need antagonist factions, it doesn't need phantoms, it doesn't need nomads, it doesn't need coalition and it doesn't need many other things, no AIs, the game is hijacked by morons to confuse the game with their dickwaving generic competition games mixed up with troll-of-the-day.
The problem though is "Tenacity had"..."Weesen has"...is there an official version?
We can't all just invent a way whenever we feel like it. I'd just like to know so we can respond in rp accordingly and I really don't want to hear there are thirteen ways to have your Nomad.
In SP, once the Nomad leaves your body, it destroys your eyes, brain, and heart, so if the Nomad leaves, you can kiss your butt goodbye. However, Orillion does mention at the end that the human population was returned to normal, which seems to fit what the Nomad developers document says. In the document, if the Nomads are cut off from their power source (the Hyper Gate), they suddenly lack the strength to continue to possess humans.
I think that if the Nomad voluntarily leaves, it kills you, but if it's weakened and forced out, the human body suffers no lasting damage.
Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits
Although Klaw almost hit the nail on that one, its still beyond the point. The official version will come, it has been written for months, have a bit more patience and you'll have your questions answered. For now, guessing and making up your own things will only add to the confusion that will arise when the lore comes.
