I've been thinking, we get a fair amount of rule breakers and general idiots able to play Discovery fairly easily these days. There is little effort involved to log into the server and cause a large annoyance, generally in the Liberty zone.
My idea is that the server is password protected. To get the password you 'decrypt' the server rules page. In the server rules page there are pieces of the password but easy instructions to find the pieces, or just highlight a letter or a word in random places in the rules.
This way, it kind of forces the players to reading the rules, not to mention refresh a few peoples memory. I need that sometimes.
We could randomize the password once a fortnight or so. Oh and to read the thread, you have to register to the Discovery forums.
I think this would help lower the amount of people playing the 'I did not read the rules' card, not to mention it could spark a larger forum community since a few don't even log into the forums.

So what do you guys think of this idea? I know some may not like being 'forced' to play, and there will be some "I do not know the password" people or threads, but we can PM them the password if need be.
I remember someone saying that igiss did not want to password protect the server. I'm not sure the exact reasons why though. In either case putting a password would greatly limit good new players as well as the troublemakers.

Darn it all.
But I can see the backlash in it lowering good players coming in.
