When you get pirated, the last thing you wanna do is die, traders don't wanna die. So when a trader goes, "You know what, just kill me." Isn't that a bit out of roleplay.. Post your comments.
Agreed, Its cheaper just to pay the demand and be on your way. I try to rp it a little (Still working on that).
Now having said that, it gets tiresome when I get pirated 5 and 6 times a night. I know pirates need to eat too, but when it comes down to having played a trader all night and all I have accomplished is losing a large sum of money and made nothing, it isn't any fun nor is it worth it.
Personally I think a requirement is that everyone should have to have a trader character, that way everyone feels the pinch. just my opinion.

I tried to pirate someone earlier today by telling them they could either pay me or take me out on a date. Sadly, no rp came back to me, they just hit the tradelane and ran.
I didn't even quote a price, I mean, if I had gotten 50k or somesuch I would've just made a comment about not being such a cheap date
I prefer the haggle, distract, and run stratagem. :D
At least;
A; you made some effort to escape
B; you did some RP
C; you might actually have a tenth chance at escaping
D; you RP'ed.. wait.. oh well you can never say it too many times.:cool:
(and E; if you get good pirates you can have some truly ROFL-Banter)
