Hello all. I usually don't ask for help with the rules and all, but I've been kinda thinking about the Order's Zone of Influence.
I've seen the Bs| restricted systems list, but I wanted to make a character and do some advanced recon, primarily in other lawful areas such as New London, or Kusari.
I can assure you all that I won't use anything bigger than a VHF, if that. My finances in game won't allow for anything bigger.
I guess my main question is ... unless there is a problem, are ZOI violations generally overlooked, or do I need to post in the special RP section?
Thanks in advance.
"The thirteen saloons that had lined the one street of Seney had not left a trace. The foundations of the Mansion House hotel stuck up above the ground. The stone was chipped and split by the fire. It was all that was left of the town of Seney. Even the surface had been burned off the ground.
Nick looked at the burned-over stretch of hillside, where he had expected to find the scattered houses of the town and then walked down the railroad track to the bridge over the river. The river was there."
the ZoI of the order is where they are present. - minor, delta, 100, alaska...
that doesn t mean they get sanctioned for being in new york to do RP. - think of that.... the ZoI of a corsair is most certainly not alpha. - but should they get sanctioned for being in alpha to attack it? - its their point to sometimes push through eta to attack malta.
so - even if malta is not the ZoI of corsairs - they are entitled to be there for their RPs sake. - same goes for the order. if you re doing a recon mission, it makes no sense making it in your own systems. - of course you can go elsewhere.
what you cannot do is hang around in manhattan orbit - chatting happily. thats ooRP. - but travelling outside of the public routes through new york, texas, colorado... etc. thats inRP.
' Wrote:The ZOI is what you can roleplay out with other factions. It should not be overstretched indeed, but simply taking npc presence is too restrictive.
AoM
Not everyone will want the same ZOI RP, not everyone will know about each others ZOI RP.
The only way ZOI can work is if it is predefined. It can't be faction defined and work.
Following sytems populated by your NPCs is a great rule of thumb. Deffinatly the safest. A lot of people just say keep it in reason and you will be ok.
PS: Block member post option is awsome
A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.
He was asking for Order especially, So if his char can roleplay out with RM to take position in Rheinland to watch wild actvity he does define his ZOI via agreement with RM. Simple.
There is no need for anyone else to interfere with.
If he can keep it in reason, I wouldn't see a problem with it.

As a member of The Order could you not RP being anywhere, doing reconnaissance work as to the levels on infection prevalent in whatever area you are in?
The way I see it, our 'normal' operating ZOI (where we should be 90% of the time) is:
-Omicron Minor
-Omicron 100
-Unknown
-Omicron Major (Upper and lower)
-Omicron Delta
-Omicron Kappa
-Omicron Gamma
-Alaska
However, with a solid RP reason (chasing a nomad across sirius, going to sig13 or rheinland to kill wild, infiltrating house territory to investigate possible infected individuals, etc.) the order can really go anywhere.
I strongly recommend staying out of liberty (alaska excepted) though, both because a lot of OORP crap goes on there, and because of all the pvp whores.
Most of the action we see lately takes place directly within order space (100/minor) and neighboring systems (delta/unknown/alaska). Occasionally we take small groups out to sigma 13, new berlin, or the omegas to deal with wild characters when they're around, but we dont do that often just because of the hassle of travelling to those locations.
All nomad systems are also fair game to order - omicron lost, omicron iota, omicron 99, omicron 90, etc. Have to have a damned good reason to go to iota though, we really shouldnt be there without a large fleet due to the hazard of being the nomad home system.
