' Wrote:Really shouldn't be taking them in their home systems... >_> The coloring is thrashed on some of them, and on others, they're almost to dark to pick out any detail.
' Wrote:Um....... I like links a little better no offence, the colors on your ships sometimes are weird colors.
Links did a good job, he set up via server and cut out all the effects, did the white settings and makes them glow, he also spent more time on the turret settings and more care so he could get much larger or better pictures.
I am continuing where he stopped mostly for everyone that wants sigs etc. However I am doing in spare time at work;)on my laptop. Running server etc bogs me down to much to do so. So what I got is what I got.
I do hope that links returns since he already has his process in place and finishes his list.
do note that at point in time not yet disclosed I will be going to my larger project;) and thus giving us MORE than what the game engine can supply us with.
Quote:make note anyone with a photo editor can fix
When colors are that askew, having to recolor them that drastically results in unwanted correct hues over the whole ship. Most ships have multiple colorations. Desaturating them ends up working best, but you'll recieve the hue over every last piece. If you don't desaturate them, you'll still have unwanted over coloring and errors. Also, if the'ye too dark like the Dessie turned out, brightening them makes them look faded and the coloring weak, which would have to be fixed as said above, resulting in further errors to what the actual render would look like.
The only real way to recolor it to perfection would be to get a render with the right lighting, desaturate it, then painstakingly select each and every little piece to color it the way it should be. With vessels that have little patches and logos and lights and such, painstaking doesn't begin to describe it.

Anyways, the Kusari GB render came out beautifully with the shadow.

that one I actually had some time to fly around the system and get a good angle with the sun etc.
dont have time right now to tinker with the rest like that:(
AS per the saturation etc etc that you commented about earlier, yes tis a bit hard to hit them in the right setting and get everything nice, even with a pure white server to tinker on. the game engine is good, but not as clear even on a large screen shot.
hence why I am wanting to take all the mod ships and put them into my 3D apps to get good clean pictures of them all. Textures will become more vibrant and detail will be as the designer intended. PLUS can get the angles a lot easier and make all the ships the same size instead of fighting with turret view that wont zoom enough to get that right fit, if you know what I mean.
I have been going round and looking at any thing I could find for FL2... unfortunately Youtube has been the only source and it frustrates me as in they scrapped it cause the clips on there looked nice. [/off rant for another time]
Anywho, once I get this stuff up for all the sig makers and well wishers the larger project will provide MORE freedom and ability to give us all some real Renders of the ships.
