Apologies for sniffing about your private comms, but I am moved to respond.
Gripping stuff, that. Very engrossing action report. My compliments.
Your completely responsible actions with regards to our vessel the Catch 23 are noted. You were doing the Aneristic thingie, and very well.
It saddens me a bit that you still feel the need to hire scum like the SSO to assist with your laundry. We will be addressing this by taking away the SSO's detergent and laundry room priviledges...
Did you not find it rather curious that a BS capital ship was willing to stand down against the SSO for the duration of this engagement? For a brave and honorable chap like yourself, I would think this would raise immense questions. Or even teeny weeny ones.
Speaking of teeny weeny ones, give my regards to DBoy when next you see hiim.
Oh, and pop by one of our Chapels there in Bretonia. Grab a complimentary copy of the Principia Discordia. It may help you understand our motives and methods... or not. I've also instructed our priests their to reimburse you for your ship's damages out of the weekly collections. The other combatants involved can piss up a rope.

This is just a suggestion, but I would like to tell everyone to attempt to avoid response to ELF's post. They seem to think that they wind us up. However, the more that we respond to this, the more that they will target points against us and our friendlies. They cannot hold the same problems against us as they have been for quite some time if they keep with the same one.

I'll get straight to the point on this message. While refueling at Cambridge research station, i recieved several incomming distress signals from my Hunters. As the tank was nearly full, I rushed the crew into the battleship and undocked from the station.
Cambridge at this time was safe, as the fighing was going on in Omega 7. However, things were getting worse for my people and i ordered a retreat back to Omega 5. As i arrived there, i found myself straightaway lodged in the asteroids. Several minutes passed before Flagship Payne could free itself. However, i managed to catch sight of one of the ELF members. At that point, before i even engaged, both engaging ELF fighters were disabled, and we moved to Cambridge to stop a foolish ELF who had jumped there.
We were greeted with empty space and made our way to Planet Cambridge to deal with the threat. However, they seemed not to be there. A few minutes later, a lone fighter showed up and engaged us. 3 sso| fighters and a battleship vs 1 fighter. However, the fighter managed to stay alive by using his batts and bots until a cruiser arrived. However, the cruiser came out of the trade lane as i was watching it, and i had ample time to disbable its sheilds with the ships quad inferno's.
However, upon seeing its sheild drop so wuickly, the liberty cruiser Catch_23 darted out of range with its cruise engines, and decided to fly aimlessly about us, with no intention of fireing. Seeing this, my fighters engaged the lone ELF fighter and forced it to withdraw, sporting a missing engine 3 weapons missing.
A quick breather was given to us, and we made use of it by making a single patrol to the Omega 5 hole. It was again uninhabited by ELF and we decided to use the trade lane to return to Cambridge.
[attachmentid=892]
As soon as we got in the lane, the formation was forced to exit after some ELF had disabled it. The cruiser, Catch_23 had been surprised at our entry, and was quickly sent limping to recieve repairs from Cadiz. 3 ELF fighters were sent packing 2 of which by the energy displacement of passing Battlerazor shots.. The other one was despatched by the 3 fighters, alond with some Solaris fire from my battleship.
However, the ELF were not content to give up, and repaired surprisingly quickly. They were back in Cambridge in minutes. This time, they had requistitioned a battleship for their havoc. It ambushed our formation*** and then the other ELF members engaged us. The combined firepower of a Liberty cruiser and Hacker spyglass was needed to disable my flagship's weapons, with near fatal damage to the spyglass. Upon hearing that my ship was a "sitting duck", it disengaged with the fighter escort for repairs at Cambridge. content with this, the ELF left the system, thinking they had caused enough Chaos for today.***
Battle report finished
I find that this service should be rewarded with some credits, as, once again, the sso| has defended Cambridge from the ELF's chaos. Though we could come to some sort of agreement about offereing full time service to the SF to prepare for future attacks by the ELF.
I am also a bit puzzled to see that all sides are allied or neutral to each other in some way. Bs| cant help the [SF] because they just signed a peace deal with ELF, the [SF] is allied to Bs| and the ELF are enemies of the [SF]. Its a bit puzzleing from my point of view. Thats just my opinion, it doesnt matter as im not being paid to say it.

OOC:
*** Lag monster showed up  .
1. When i was ambushed i thought we were observing a cease fire, as all ELF forces but the Spyglass were not firing. Neither were we. LAG monster here aswell which is why we stopped. I dont think the spyglass knew we had a cease fire on as he apologised. All is well :)
2. Lag was getting ridiculous and we coulnt fight, so both formations left the system
Sorry that is the only screenie i got and its not even of us in battle. Im sure the ELF will attest to the fact that we had a grand melee (some botted and batted, both sides were complaining). It was very fun and i didnt see any [SF] on so we all thought "lets have some fun" and we wound up duking it out in Cambridge.
Hope we get paid for this but i understand if we dont (only 1 screenie :( )

I'll take the battle report as stated. You'll be compensated for the resources that were used in defending Cambridge and I thank you for the assistance. A sum of $5 mil will be transfered at the earliest opportunity (OOC: if some other SF member pays it before I do, post the message here and I'll pay you back from the bank).
With regards to the Bs|, as it stands the relationship is based on the aquiring of Nomad Tech and mutual benefit. It would be advised though that if the Bs| wishes to have continued access to Cambridge that they be willing to assist in its defense against all aggressors. Having a Bs| vessel sit by while a group attacks home would not be appreciated, especially given the SF would aid the Bs| in defending their home.

You speak great sense, Admiral, I have run into this confusing triangle relationship problem before, the first time when I was patrolling with a Bs| member who engaged an sso| on sight - I simply had to play neutral to the whole situation and broke formation. Another time Cambridge was under light attack but the Bs| present could not provide assistance as sso| were already doing so.
It would be hugely beneficial to all of us if the Bs| and sso| could settle their differences. The terror threat to Bretonia and Sirius as a whole is growing steadily, possibly larger than any of our militaries can handle alone. Whatever spurned this bitterness, it sure has complicated our diplomacy :0/
On a side-note, the sso| were indeed valiant in their protection of Bretonia as ever, but they were not hired for their service on this occassion, and as I understand it, their fight broke out in the Omegas- not actually our territory. That it spilled over into our home system is unfortunate, I commend the sso| for their persistance. That said, (how can I word this gently...) we should discourage the practice of compensating for battles that Bretonia and SF were essentially no part of. This particular situation warrants compensation for the outstanding valour of the Bounty Hunters, I'm just suggesting we could run up some big debts if we pay for every fight we didn't take part in.

Agreed, this situation I thought deserved compensation, but your right not every battle will be compensated it must be warranted. And in most cases should involve SF participation. Other cases mutual defense implies no need for compensation, although some might be given anyways (example RM, Bs| or [IND]).
OOC: The point is I don't want to see 20 posts in this thread about 1-1 or whatever battles saying "Give me money". If its a big enough battle I'll more than consider compensation but it must be warranted. It also depends on how well the RP post is written as well (a short - "I faught someone in Cambridge and won" post will get ya nothing). Hope this clarifies things

Tonight marked the launching of another ship-of-the-line for the SF flotilla, the [SF]-SFDS-BlackPaw. The Bretonian built Destroyer will act as my personal Cruiser class warship for multi-purpose patrols. I felt the ship class jump necessary in light of strengthened attacks on Cambridge. The new design of Gunboat was just not capable of keeping up against enemy capships, and somewhat more vulnerable to fighter attacks than the previous model. It's still got a good few years of fight in it before being dry-docked, though.

In addition to Badger using this, it proved a very effective element in a battle this evening. A group of Marauders moved through Cambridge at different times to group in omega three. They then came back into Cambridge to engage. While lag was a major issue, it was projected that the SF would have been able to win the battle due to certain key elements and strategies.
